    There's a difference between becoming defensive and cutting out risks - Tendulkar has done the latter. You might find that boring, but defensive it certainly is not.     Disagree with the bolded. I don't think Katich was that good at six and his record up to that point backs that up I think. He was excellent in India if I remember correctly but wasn't that great otherwise. I'd put it as Katich at six = Raina at this point.

    That's not a surprise though. It seems a lot of commentators certainly don't keep up with cricket news as you'd hope they would and seem to simply not have basic knowledge that just about anyone on CW would have.

    If I'm understanding the process correctly, it's flawed imo because the match average isn't a good indicator of the difficulty of batting in that match, and because it disproportionately rewards a good batsman in a poor team. I haven't looked at it in much detail though.

    Re. KP, if he's failing against poor spinners, that's his failing. You can't say he isn't playing them well because he's showing disdain for them - his job is to score runs and if he can't do that regularly against those bowlers, whether it's because of a technical problem or an attitude...
