    *Official* Second Test at Lords

Come back when AFL is the premier global sport. Scrap that, come back when AFL is actually global. In fact don't even come back.

Batted Alastair. So Cook has gotten himself in and is looking in good touch out there. Definitely out in the next few overs then.

Never did I imagine that i'd see Mitchell Johnson mentioned in the same breath as Ali! But I completely understand. He's such an annoyance.

I really wish we had Marcus Trescothick on this pitch.

    *Official* Second Test at Lords

Tbh, most batsmen in the modern game struggle on green tops. It's why they're so dangerous.

So basically you're saying Johnson can only perform on pitches that suit him? Sign of a real world class bowler that.

Staying with Cook for a minute, anyone else find it a bit funny that his batting buddy Anderson has a better technique than him? I love our Jimmy. What a man.

I'm amazed at the success Johnson has had with such a horrid seam position. It's schoolboy stuff to get your seam position straight; I can do it and i'm completely gash. For all the talk about Cook's technical deficiencies, Johnson has an equally worrying one.

Mate averages are everything to Ben. If a player averages .01 more than another player then he is instantly the better player no questions asked. Aint that right Benjamin?

Whilst he's technique is dreadful atm, he's only 24 and is averaging roughly 45 already. To do that with a poor technique is a sign of a good player tbh.

Tbh this kind of pitch is a minefiled compared to some of the ones that you get in India. If this is unnacceptable then every Test match in India should be banned from now on. And also we've only had 10 overs. Why don't you all stop moaning and give the game a chance. I'll say it again, there's...

We will not win a Test in this series with Stuart Broad in our team. If we win this Test match I will happily post a picture of me lovingly holding a picture of Michael Clarke and kissing him on his massively annoying face. Add to that, England don't know how to play on dead pitches.

The best results pitch in England is easily Old Trafford because it genuinely does have something for everyone. Spinners enjoy it, fast bowlers can get bounce and movement out of it and batsmen love it too. So what do England do? Give Wales a Test match instead on one of the deadest pitches...

I think Warney needs the Advanced Hair Studio treatment again. He's looking a lot thinner on top these days. And a lot fatter at the bottom.

    *Official* Second Test at Lords

You do realise England are playing? We could easily be bowled out within 10 minutes at any stage of our innings. It's one of our many talents.

Freddie to retire after the Ashes

This. If his teammates have any heart whatsoever they will do their utmost to make sure Freddie retires with a bang and with the little urn in his back pocket. I remember in 2001 when Michael Atherton retired during that Ashes series during another hammering at the Oval. A shame that one of...

Freddie to retire after the Ashes

Tbh his body doesn't really work that way. He just can't last 5 days anymore regardless of how much one day cricket he does or does not play.

    "Look! He's got moobs!"

    Stuart Broad

If Broad plays at Lords we lose the Ashes. It's as simple as that. I really like Broad but atm he is nowhere near good enough to be playing against Australia. And on the subject of punchable faces, Michael Clarke is the absolute king of them. I dunno what it is about him, I just want to deck...
