Roy’s spot at the top should not be in doubt

Hasn't opened for Kent in years FTR. Was moved down to 3 in 2016 and has stayed there, so been a while since he did that job domestically. He'd probably do a better job than Roy, but I'd keep Denly at 4, and bring a recognised opener in like Sibley.

4th Test at Old Trafford, Manchester

I guess. Pope can come in at 6, I just want an extra batsman in there and prefer the classical balance of 5 batsmen, all-rounder, keeper and bowlers, but does make sense to keep Stokes at 5.

4th Test at Old Trafford, Manchester

Absolutely do change a winning combination. Roy isn't up to it, and not convinced Buttler is either. I'm picking: Burns Sibley Root Denly Stokes Pope Bairstow Archer Broad Anderson Leach A superb final innings effort from Root, Denly, Bairstow and Stokes does not paper over the fact the top...

    3rd Test at Headingley, Leeds

Stokes almost looks embarrassed to have done it again. WAG. Love him.

82* against Sri Lanka 89 against Australia 79 against India 84* against NZ in the WC Final 115* against Australia at Lords 135* against Australia at Headingley Ben Stokes has had quite a summer with the bat!

    3rd Test at Headingley, Leeds

This is when you know your batting is bad: https://twitter.com/MontyChannel/status/1165213827065090049 But seriously, fine effort today from Root and Denly. Going to be a tough first hour tomorrow, especially once the Aussies get the new ball. If we can get through the first session unscathed...

    3rd Test at Headingley, Leeds

Could see that one coming a mile off. Great pressure from Lyon and Hazlewood. Excellent from Australia but Denly didn't play that particularly well.

    3rd Test at Headingley, Leeds

These two umpires are ****ing horrendous.

    3rd Test at Headingley, Leeds

Been an excellent partnership so far. Just a shame the inevitable lollapse comes once one of them gets out.

They have, but you don't help yourself when two of the batsmen woft the bat at wide ones and your opener flaps at a short one.

How long till Bairstow gets bowled through the gate?

What's Michael Carberry up to nowadays?

    3rd Test at Headingley, Leeds

Definitely the sort of shot you play when your team is 34/3. ****ing genius.
  16. King Pietersen

    3rd Test at Headingley, Leeds

    Denly off the mark. WAG.
  17. King Pietersen

    3rd Test at Headingley, Leeds

Yeah, someone that's got some ticker and is going to hang around and make some filthy runs even when out of form. Hell, I'd have Ian Bell back right now, he'd also have to bat 3, but would be a better option than most of these mugs. What doesn't help is that only Burns and Bairstow are batting...
  18. King Pietersen

    3rd Test at Headingley, Leeds

I ****ing miss the Cook, Strauss, Trott, Pietersen top 4.
  19. King Pietersen

    3rd Test at Headingley, Leeds

Batting at 3 this season for Kent, and that's where he should be batting in this side if he wants to keep his spot. Burns Sibley Denly Root Pope Stokes Should probably be our top 6 right now.
  20. King Pietersen

    3rd Test at Headingley, Leeds

Jo-El gonna Jo-El. Thank **** for that. Denly should get to 20 before getting out now.
