*Official* Airtel Twenty20 Champions League 2009

NSW and Victoria have played quite a few warm up matches, now for the one that counts. Would have preferred it being the final but not to be.

There is a number of players that shouldn't be in our T20 side but our selectors will continue to pick them.

    Andrew Hilditch Re-Appointed

Of course Hohns wasn't ruthless all the time there has to be a balance between the two. In Test they were winning so the Waugh brothers and Healy's poor showings were over looked for a longer period. Had they lost in that period I'm sure Mark and Healy would have been gone and possibly Steve...

Warner has been more consistently lately. If he keeps up his form in the FRC he could cause some headaches for the selectors.

Was Kasper injured though? As that is shocking if he wasn't.

Mark Waugh averaged 45 in Test and 80 in ODI in 2001. In 2002 he was given 7 matches in both formats before being dropped. He averaged 86 in the Ashes so you aren't going to drop him for at least 2 series. That brings us to the return leg in SA where he averaged 34. Could have been dropped here...

Even more reason to get selectors that will make the right call the majority of the time. Back then we could rely on selectors that were competent since the side basically picked itself. What Hohns did well was move on the older guys. There was no loyalty shown to the Waugh brothers, Healy...

Victoria really need to get one of their batters to fire. I believe not one of their players has made a 50 yet. No better time to do so then in the semis but that could be their last chance.

Sigh, we aren't going to get anywhere until the selection panel is changed. They have NFI about T20 cricket and their selection in Test cricket has been deadset average.

NSW definitely stuffed up the middle overs but 170 is more than defendable. The problem came once Hauritz took some stick and the part timers were shown to be just that. Maybe time to get Bird into the side to give us another strike bowler but hard to leave out either Bollinger or Clark.

    Clarke named Australia's Twenty20 captain

Usual story of us not picking T20 players.

Oh fair enough. I see him more as opener or number 3, he has the ability to counter attack if needed and has a good enough technique to keep the good balls out.

If Borgas was to come in it would be for Cooper seeing how he batted out of position and didn't score. Although I hope they stick with Cooper hes a talent. As for OD, Smith and Cooper would be a good opening combo for mind, they worked well in the Future cup.

Christian definitely is handy with the ball, just wish he would start delivering with the bat as hes better than what hes shown so far. O'Brien definitely a handy spin option, still wouldn't have minded Cullen Bailey being given a go. Lovin Smith, nows he smoking Tassie attack.

Well he can't do much apart from convert this score into a 100 atm. Agree though he needs to be more consistent and convert.

Good win for Victoria, McDonald and McKay have really stepped up this series. The batters still are yet to fire but it's bound to happen sooner or later.

Definitely is nice to see Bailey finally living up to his potential. Butterworth is still there which is encouraging, needs to go on now. It's taken a few seasons but it looks like Simpson is finally starting to deliver.

Funny enough on paper its one of the weaker bowling lineup's they have fielded but each bowler has done their job thus far. Duval is having a good debut for Sa.

Is Cosgrove's medium pacers similar to Ryder? He seems to be very handy bowler. Smith looks like a talent, been in good run scoring form. Just need Cooper to get some runs in FC.
