18 years ago the 2003 cricket world cup final

The zenith of Australia's reign followed by the great win in India in 2004. Oh what wonderful times that was for us Aussie boys - it seemed like Australia's reign at the top would continue for ever. Little did Burgey realise that within 18 years Australia would struggle to find batsmen...

Which team will win the series in India?

No my point is India lose rarely at home. To beat them You have either gotta be an exceptional side like Australia 2004, windies 83 or an experienced, decent side facing off an Indian side with issues e.g. England 84, 2012, rsa 2000. Pakistan 87 probably the slight exception to this and even...

Which team will win the series in India?

England had a good team in 2012 with players who had experienced indian cinditions in 2006 and 2008 but they were also a bit lucky. They caught India when they were clearly in a transition phase and their most potent bowler at the time got injured after the first test.

***Official*** India vs England 2021 General Discussion thread

With Jadeja out England's 4,5,6,7 of Root, Pope, stokes and Buttler is arguably stronger than Kohli, Rahane, Pant and Axar. Problem though for England is I think India's top 3 is decidedly better as as are their spinners. I also don't think England's seamers are better in these conditions...

England might win a test but I doubt they will win more that. India will win the series.

What is first choice India fast bowling attack?

India need to get Ishan Porel and Prasidh Krishna into the national setup. They are both considerably better prospects than Saini.

India should win if they are not complacent - they are the better team imo.

Agarwal will get runs on the subcontinent but I doubt he will get many in England or South Africa where India tour next. India better off investing in KL Rahul as backup opener - still think he has underachieved for his talent but if Rahul fails in his next go at test cricket, look at Easwaran.

Was 2016 South Africa tour at home the biggest loss for Australia in recent years?

Yeah Reiffel and Fleming were quality bowlers. Fleming a bit unlucky with injuries. Kasper a bit underrated also - was a great foil fro McGrath and Gillespie.

Is This India's Greatest Test Series Victory Overseas?

India really ought to have done better in NZ particularly in that 2ns test where they had a real opening. While I don't see the parallels with the 1995 Frank Worrell series, this series should certainly spur India onto bigger things They have tours lined up to England and Saf. Provided they...

***Official*** India's Tour of Australia 2020/21 - General discussion

92/93 Frank Worrell trophy was pretty good as Australians of a certain vintage will attest to - my fellow Sydneysiders Burgey and Cribbage. Man I miss competitive Australia west Indies clashes.

*OFFICIAL* Australian Cricket Doom & Gloom Thread

Easy fix. Commission a wide ranging review headed by a former Macquarie Group or Rio Tinto chairman into Aussie cricket and implement all recommendations including hiring a high performance guru from the Wallabies who preferably went to a GPS school say Newington or Sydney grammar who Langer is...

Was 2016 South Africa tour at home the biggest loss for Australia in recent years?

Not sure about that. Hazlewood hasn't been much chop outside Australia other than the 2019 Ashes and wickets against a weak windies lineup.Jason powered that great Australian team to their greatest achievement - their series win in India in 2004. Plus their stats are quite similar despite Jason...

Chutney is soft and squishy. I can assure you the other item you mentioned isn't.

Some very good food is good Tamil cuisine from Chennai. Beans curry , potato sambar, rice, lime pickle - yum. Also masala dosa with sambar and coconut chutney rocks. I wish Burgey and his missus will take a trip to Tamil Nadu to enjoy.

How about Devdutt Paddikkal ? I know most of his performances have been in white ball cricket but Dravid thinks he has the chops for the longer format as well.

You and the missus must miss well India could play both Saha and sundar in the 11. gill Rohit Puj Rahane Pant Saha Sundar Ashwin/kuldeep Thakur Saini Siraj Saha probably likely to make as many runs as Shaw or Mayank at 6 ie probably not much.

    4th Test at the Gabba, Brisbane, 15 - 19 Jan 2021

I'd go for broke and play Sundar. India's Bowling with the five man attack has kept them in this series.why change that ?
