    lara vs tendulkar

Donald was better bowler than Mcgrath, Wasim and co. He would be equal with Ambrose. WI were still a pretty good team and he dominated them. He wasn’t as good as he could have been vs Australia. Mcgrath was below his best vs SA too.

    lara vs tendulkar

He played a few great knocks against them but was also terrible in few of the series and only hit hundreds when the series was already decided. ...probably matched by VVS

The ATG Teams General arguing/discussing thread

Don’t forget you are arguing with the brigadier of anti-murali army. He always comes up with lots of excuses to degrade Murali.

    VVS Laxman v Graham Thorpe

While it’s easier to score runs when you are batting with Sachin and Dravid but VVS was famous for scoring runs when Sachin or/and Dravid went missing.

    Morne Morkel v Bob Willis

Morkel played in the most batsmen friendly era of all time. He also had to share wickets with arguably the greatest bowler ever and another very good bowler. Morkel’s average is very similar to Anderson’s and is pretty good for his era.

    Morne Morkel v Bob Willis

I don’t really care who people pick. But it is not a no contest given the simalarities between the bowlers’ records.

    Morne Morkel v Bob Willis

They are probably on the same level and one can make a strong argument for Morkel. But I don’t care who picks who. I take issue with that poster calling it a no contest and saying that it’s funny someone would even think Morkel was better. That line of arguments are boring.

    Morne Morkel v Bob Willis

Morkel maybe but I am not.

Cricinfo Best Test 11 from last 25 years

Steyn is the first bowler I’ll pick. He is an out an out strike bowler with great SR and average in the most batting friendly era.

    South Africa team selection

He waited far too long while Duminy was playing teats without scoring any runs and Bavuma being preferred. He should have been given a crack in test long before. Bavuma/Andile etc didn’t have to wait for their chances while Russow had to toil in domestic cricket over many years. Some...
