I think the ideal XI would be : Roy, Bairstow, Malan, Root, Stokes, Buttler, Livingstone, Woakes, Rashid, Atkinson/Curran, Topley

    Man Of The Tournament?

    Jason Roy

    England thread

England have 4 ODIs against NZ, 3 against Ireland, 1 against India & 1 against Bangladesh before the World Cup. That's plenty of time to try if the Roy & Bairstow duo is still effective :) If not, Malan is there!

    English Domestic Season 2023

Hello! Josh Bohannon continues to impress. He's currently on 174* averaging 47.5 in domestic cricket. Do you know why he hasn't been considered by the England team ? Because of his strike rate ? English batters averaging over 45 are pretty rare, right ?

*Official* Third Test (Headingley, Leeds) 6–10 July

Bairstow should just bat at #6 without keeping the wickets, that's when he was at his best. Drop Crawley, bring Foakes in. Woakes or Stokes or even Ali should try to open :) It would anyway be better than Crawley. Stokes Duckett Ali Root Brook Bairstow Foakes Woakes Wood Broad Tongue :) I know...

England players and selection discussion thread

Woakes & Wood have been excellent. I wonder which bowlers are going to be picked for England, for the 4th Test. Is Anderson gonna come back ? For Broad, who's played all 3 matches ? But Broad has been excellent too... Tongue might have a go ? I feel Bairstow is batting too low... One solution...

Jack Leach out of the Ashes

Just watched Will Jacks bat for Surrey. He looks amazing. Let him open with Duckett for England and become an amazing allrounder! Thanks to him & Root, England can have a big seam-attack or the best wicket keeper AND Bairstow Jacks, Duckett, Pope, Root, Brook, Stokes, Bairstow, Foakes/Woakes...

    English Domestic Season 2023

Kent are currently 41/4 against Surrey :) They do have a proper batting line-up even with Pope on Ashes duty. Their top 6 : Rory Burns (c), Dom Sibley, Tom Latham, Jamie Smith, Ben Foakes †, Will Jacks

Hi ! I was wondering why Sam Hain has been under-considered by England ? He's 27, and averages over 40 in FC, 57 in 50-over, and 41 in T20! Also, do you think Ben Compton will get a call one day ? Averages 54 in FC after 34 matches. And finally, what about Ben Coad, from Derbyshire, who averages...

This is not quite related, but don't you think England should have or should consider Malan opening alongside Duckett ? He's in good form and is a great cricketer. I think he deserves to play Test match cricket. Malan, Duckett, Pope, Root, Stokes, Bairstow, Dawson/Ali, Robinson, Broad, Wood...

Jack Leach out of the Ashes

I know this is not quite related, but don't you think Malan would be a good choice to open with Duckett ? He can also bowl usefull legbreaks :) His recent scores : 95*, 83, 81* (all 3 in T20) He's playing righ now against Leicestershire He's a great player, and I feel he deserve a place in Test...

Jack Leach out of the Ashes

What about Livingstone ? It'd be funny to see Linvingstone & Root be the only spinners :) Oh and Livingstone should open the batting with Duckett : Duckett, Livingstone, Pope, Root, Brook, Stokes, Bairstow, Robinson, Broad, Wood/Woakes, Anderson Theeeere's the best XI :)

Jack Leach out of the Ashes

    1. Duckett 2. Ali 3. Pope 4. Root 5. Brook 6. Stokes 7. Bairstow 8. Robinson 9. Woakes/Tongue 10. Broad 11. Anderson I know this won't happen, but I'd be happy to see Ali open & be the main spin bowler for England again! That would be a pretty strong XI!
