    player of the series

There's a few in the running, it'll depend who makes the difference at the Oval. For England, Broad's been the best bowler over 5 tests. Woakes and Wood have come in late but have made a bigger impact. Stokes played great innings at Lords and Headingley, if Creepy makes decent scores he'll have...

    Rank the World Cups

2019 by the barest of margins 1996 > 1999 > 2003. I'd put those the good tier. 2015 > 2011 next. Only seen highlights of previous world cups, but even still I can tell you they're all better than 2007.

    Reserve days

They don't have reserve days because they'd cost a lot of money. You'd be effectively scheduling extras days that wouldn't be used 90% of the time.

*Official* Fifth Test (The Oval, London) 27-31 July

I don't think this is the end for Jimmy, or if it is it won't be his choice. Fun fact: If Australia don't win the series they'll take the dubious record of longest away Ashes series drought. England drought of winning a series in Australia lasted 24 years (1986/87 - 2010/11). If England draw...

*Official* Fourth Test (Old Trafford, Manchester) 19-23 July

That's probably what they'll do, but I think they should bat the session. Giving up 5 overs or so could be 50 runs at that point and potentially take batting out again of the equation. It wouldn't even bad if we get bowled in the morning, especially if that trend of balls keeping low continues -...

*Official* Fourth Test (Old Trafford, Manchester) 19-23 July

I don't think anyone would begrudge them having a double farewell. Woakes and Anderson were the only two who actually bowled well regularly yesterday.

*Official* Fourth Test (Old Trafford, Manchester) 19-23 July

Next year might be the place to do the farewell. He can play against the West Indies & Sri Lanka, get his 700 wickets, play at Old Trafford one more time. Everyone's on his case, but he could have easily had a couple of good wickets and then no one would be saying anything. I don't think he's...

*Official* Fourth Test (Old Trafford, Manchester) 19-23 July

Sure, it's the 'fairytale' ending, but I don't think he'd retire unless he wanted to do franchise cricket for a few years. He's fit and he's still a quality bowler, all he really has to do is stay in shape and play a handful of test matches a year, and he's getting paid pretty well for that.

*Official* Fourth Test (Old Trafford, Manchester) 19-23 July

Well if Moeen's gonna bat 3, it might as well be Wood... at least if he makes makes it through 15 balls he'll have 30 runs and the bowlers will be rattled.

*Official* Fourth Test (Old Trafford, Manchester) 19-23 July

Could, but I wouldn't put much stock into that. The forecasts are never right and I think the forecast for Headingley was generally worse days from the test and there was no worries about getting a result there.

Best Ashes Teams of the Last 20 Years

You wouldn't bet against any team with McGrath and Warne in it. For England. You'd think the 10/11 team would just grind the 05 team into dust because the batting was so strong, everyone was in form and the bowling attack were certainly capable of taking 20 wickets. The 05 bowling attack was...
