So? Unless it's absolute great bowling conditions, it's better to bat. As Swann said just now, Root missed a trick here.

Nah, doesn't make sense. Good batting conditions. Make 400+ and then get the opposition wickets seems far better approach.

Yeah I agree. It's a sad state of affairs. I will select Pandya too as he can make 20-30 even though he is unlikely to take wickets.

One can't be determined and score if he has bad habits. You can't change habits and issues just by deciding okay I will play less shots today. It doesn't work like that.

He has technical, concentration and indiscipline (plays too many shots ) issues. It is extremely unlikely he will ton up.

LOL, no. You just don't come to a test match and ton up with the issues Dhawan has with his cricket.

Yeah, this is where I don't like Virat (and I think it is pretty safe to assume Virat makes all the decisions regarding the XI at this point). He keeps dropping players at the drop of a button.

There was a promo whether Indian team's shirt will open or pant for the series showing Ganguly opening his shirt at the Lords balcony and an older brother opening the pant of a younger brother who is watching cricket. Now, Pant is selected in the team. So what opened exactly, I am not sure.

    lara vs tendulkar

Thought I will go in detail about this. 50+scores/completed innings (not outs don't count like for average) Career: Tendulkar 41% (remarkably high) Lara 36% (High, too) v all except Bangladesh and Zimbabwe: Tendulkar: 39.3% Lara: 35.6% So, the gap does close when we discount...

    lara vs tendulkar

I have seen a of people argue than Warme wasn't at his best during that series. However, he was bowling really well. I remember he got SRT in the first test vividly and I was like, wow, game on.

In tests, you need players to be able to make runs or take wickets. In ODIs some one who can restrict runs or score a useful thirty works. However, tests is a more specialist field with more skill to make runs or take wickets required. It is a fine line. The all rounder has to do at least one...
