Thanks for reply Gob. CA has come up with some bewildering selections...least of which is the reinstatment of Mitch Marsh without showing any domestic red ball improvement. Maxwell recalled , certainly not on merit...but rather because he bowls some useful off spin. Four specialist spinners is...

Paks were rather embarrassing at times. Or at least our superiority made them look it. Awesome series by Hazlewood. Is now ranked the worlds #1 pace bowler

Has three solid shield seasons tho before this season. Just that Holland is the flavor of the month, Ahmed is my horses-for-courses selection. The great Tugga Waugh also wants him to go.

Change of subject. My India tour squad: Warner Renshaw. Smith Khawaja Handscomb Head Nevill Starc Ahmed Hazlewood Bird S Marsh, Cartwright, SOK, Lyon/Agar, Faulkner/Sayers. (Maxwell?) I have chosen Smith at #4 to break up the lefties at top of the order. Ashwin will have a field day otherwise.

CA destroyed Watson's reputation by keeping him around well after his used by date. He copped so much forum bashing.. We had a thread at The Crowd completely dedicated to this enigmatic cricketer. It was one of the most prolific threads on ths site.

Perhaps in his prime he was. Not in his last few years when his bowling kept him in the equation. Even that was better suited to the short formats of the game.

If SOK can produce anywhere near similar results to Jadeja in India..then take him. Agar with his greater bounce and variation may just be a better bet imo.

Then why post such a statement. How else can I justify it? SOK has a very impressive FC record.. very surprising given the little he does with the ball. Ashton Agar...early days in his bowling career.. the West Aussie leftie is a clone of the Kiwi great. Is in the frame for a tour of India.

I hope not. Hopefully by then CA will have done with him and Lyon.. with a view to the future. Just a couple of names for our Pom mates to hang onto... Mitch Swepson and Arjun Nair. Mitch a young leggie, Arjun a mystery off spinner with enormous wraps.

I am not sure I read that correctly. SOK a "much better version than Dan Vettori". That is what you wrote? I dd not wish to be insulting. Either you are blind or lacking true cricket knowledge. Dan Vettori would bowl SOK under the table, out and back under again. Need I bring up his career...

Hazlewood applies constant pressure. Gives the batsmen no respite.

I did mean that Agar has the game to bat at #7. Not now...later on when he becomes established as a spinner.. I think he has the all round game to play ODI and T20 for us. His ball striking is very Gillyesque imo.

I do not have any problem with Agar batting at #7. In fact I can see him scoring some handy runs from there. Problem I do have is firstly having Wade in the side and secondly having him bat in the vital #6 spot. That is madness. Nevill is a far more technical batsman than Wade and even he was...

So basicly what you are saying is it is ok for our so called premier spinner to go to India and other Asian countries and perform with mediocrity on piches that assist him?. Dragging out Australian records of Indian bowlers is a weak argument. I am talking only of our spinners in Asia.
