    2021 English Cricket Season

Might not have any test batsman but a lot of English batsman continuing to prosper in overseas leagues. In recent days had Laurie Evans mom in Big Bash final, 20 year old Will Smeed making 97 in PSL, Will Jacks making 52 off 19 balls in the BPL. Those just the standouts. Also obviously had...

    PSL 2022

Probably the premier T20 competition in the world. https://www.espncricinfo.com/series/pakistan-super-league-2021-22-1292999 Will Smeed already in the runs.

Sounds like Salt, Garton and Brook all debut tonight. Moeen possibly captaining with no Morgan.

Thankfully no grand collapse this time. I said previously this England side was fairly unathletic but I think that's wrong going on what i've seen in this tournament. Fielded really well tbh. Aspinwall and Prest look like weak links in the bowling. Prest was the best of the bowlers in Sri Lanka...

I've been rewatching Friday night lights recently. Prest is a bit of lookalike of Landry.

Yes definite shades of stokes in bethell especially with that pull shot. Broken the back of the chase here already.

Cunningham looks like a genuine number 11. England have some gobshites on their side - have to turn the volume down

https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2022/jan/25/england-improve-death-bowling-t20-international-west-indies I mean I'm glad they are doing it now but it's been obvious for a while that England should bat first more often in ODIs and T20s for the practice rather than always bowling first when...

It showed up a bit in the fielding and running between the wickets in the world t20s especially against NZ in the semifinals where we were outran between the wickets and outfielded. Malan and Ali partnership never really pushed 2s, and didn't make up for it with boundaries. Morgan doesn't like...

Morgan really needs to show some form or Root won't be the only English captain being questioned. Salt has scored a lot more runs than Banton. Billings I was surprised to seeing playing given he's just done multiple long haul flights across the world. Livingstone ill so that's why he isn't...

Nah nothing in between. Just a bit of a break for the test side. Two seperate tours really. None of the Ashes test squad in the T20 squad.

England (and Wales) gloom, doom and recriminations thread

At the end of the day the batsman has to be their own best coach, and know their own game. Pope keeps chopping and changing. Doesn't reflect greatly on himself or the coaches. Most of the coaches were down with covid after the third test? so maybe it was around then Pope couldn't find any help...

England (and Wales) gloom, doom and recriminations thread

It's not all bad. You can spend most of the winter watching English talent doing well and gaining valuable experience in T10 and T20 across the globe. It's great for a lot of English players. They are getting a lot of earning and playing opportunities that they never would have got in the past...

England (and Wales) gloom, doom and recriminations thread

It would be interesting to see how he did in England. You might need Foakes as keeper to standup to the stumps because I reckon international teams would just bat a long way down the wicket to him otherwise and try and discount the lbw.
