    English Domestic Season 2024

it's not a great one from a theoretical sense for an umpire to be giving often when it's spinning that much (generally outside the line or missing leg) but this isn't that bad a decision imo. Watching frame by frame on nvplay it hits the batsman in front of middle behind the popping crease so...

***Official*** Under-19 World Cup- South Africa 2024

the ball is only dead when both teams deem it to be iirc. Clearly Zimbabwe didn't think it was dead. I think you once you get to this standard you'd expect the batsman to not just pick the ball up without the permission of the fielding side. Clearly the bat wasn't trying to gain an advantage but...

Seems harsh. Not Bashir's fault he's been selected.

*Official* England in India 2023/24 #CryMoreTour

Yes tough these days to know who was available for selection or not -ecb never seem to make public if players make themselves unavailable. Jacks toured Pakistan last winter and you'd probably expect him in this squad but isn't there. Dawson admitted recently in an interview he would make more...

    Top 4 Predictions

Think England might bomb out in the group stages. Batting, bowling and fielding inferior to 2019. Ageing, injured squad won't enjoy all the travelling either. Paradoxically I'd still have them second favourites to India. They have the know-how, confidence and relative lack of pressure to win...

A classic rainstorm. June is monsoon season in London.

*Official* England's White Ball Tour Of Bangladesh : March 01-14, 2023

I personally think it's strong relative to the other nations. They were just facing a reasonable side in their home conditions who seemed to be a lot more motivated than England. Some of England's more average performers only recently won the world t20 - Malan, Ali, Sam Curran, Woakes. Take a...

*Official* England's White Ball Tour Of Bangladesh : March 01-14, 2023

None of those names I'd want to see coming out to bat that's for sure. I just thought England were going through the motions of this contractually obligated T20 series. Fielding was terrible. Just didn't look up for it. ODI series at least with the Worldcup later this year in India had some...

Won't be long before the Australian cricket team is back to being a national disgrace with Smith in charge.

Need gskohli or slippy as mods. They'd have made sure this thread was stickied. Bit of life in this wicket for the seamers. England have been a little sloppy so far.

*Official* England's White Ball Tour Of Bangladesh : March 01-14, 2023

This start tomorrow morning 6am uk time. On sky and youtube* iirc. Rehan Ahmed ill apparently so won't play. Pretty big series for England in the leadup to the WC. Shame Brook won't be there in particular - could do with bedding him into the side. Can Will Jacks put some pressure on Moeen...

    *Official* England in NZ 2023

Pope is an anxious type player (and personality - by his own account) and it seems to especially come out later on in the game when he's under pressure. 43.66 avg (1st innings) vs 16.66 (2nd innings) is an issue. He puts me on edge just watching him bat. Bazball has had good short term impact...

Will James Anderson break Murali's 800 wicket record?

Tendulkar's record 200 test caps up for grabs too (if it hasn't already been said).

Which team is currently the best, in 2023?

I think it's clearly India. Their dominance at home, and competitiveness away puts them clearly ahead of the others.

England players and selection discussion thread

He definitely won't be in the preferred first xi but he's a good option to play a couple of tests in the series if required. Should be in the group of 6 or 7 seamers that could be used. Has skipped the IPL this year so should have some first class cricket behind him in the leadup to the series.

Yes Brook should have won mom for that Rawalpindi test imo- probably more justified than at least 1 of the mom's he's won since.
