    ***Official England in India***

Haha. I'm somewhat of a fan of Saj, so I'm hoping he can have a few good games and entrench himself in the team. I know what about every other poster on here is going to say about that. In saying that though, you guys must admit that the bloke has been unlucky not to play an ODI after the WC...

    ***Official England in India***

This guy speaks the truth, its a bit like England having specialist batsmen at 7/8: 'Saurabh: What is the point of having an allrounder like Yusuf and not giving him a bowl? I think Dhoni needs to change a few things here and get Yusuf on instead of Yuvi.'

    Opinions of These Bowlers

I never really rated any of them, I solely picked them on the basis of similar averages. IIRC, the main reason I started this thread was to see the opinions of posters upon Kallis. I know stats don't tell the whole story, but I'll be the first to say that Kallis is not as good a bowler as either...

    ***Official*** Australian Domestic Season 2008/09

Marsh nor Pomersbach have been in good form this season. I don't think Marsh should be any where near the Test side.

Poor examples. Your description of Flintoff is similar to that of how Sami, Collins, Tait and others bowl, while your description of Kallis is akin to McGrath and Pollock.

Haha. FTR I went to primary school with her and I think she still lives in the area.

Would you say that an average difference of 1 over the period of a career is anything of note?

    Opinions of These Bowlers

I don't know if there is that big a gulf between Flintoff and Kallis, nor do I think there is much of a gulf between there match winning performances. I think the only reason it favours Flintoff more so is that he is looked upon as a front-line bowler. 2/13 of Flintoff's games where he has got...

Got to remember that the over-rating campaign of Henriques isn't limited to CW.

    Opinions of These Bowlers

Like in all other aspects of the bowling game, I recall McGrath and Warne cleaning up the tail. Clarke hasn't taken that many wickets in general and this over rate business has only been an issue that has been created in the last month. (At least to chang bowling combinations).

    Opinions of These Bowlers

Fair analysis. I know which way you head. But going by stats, could you make an arguement that Kallis is a good a bowler as Lee or Flintoff? On face value stats, he is nearly as good as Lee and better than Flintoff, but that is just on face value. Another poster used a tier system to rank the...

    Should Haddin Be Dropped

I billeted with a keeper from Broken Hill, I can only recall his first name though. Can't remember what grade he played for. Poor bat, decent behind the stumps, should be in with a shout if Haddin fails.

Yeah, try to at least. I think the overall theme I am trying to convey is that I really don't think that there is that big of a gulf between all 3.

    Should Haddin Be Dropped

If his replacement aren't adequete, is there reason to replace him then? Haddin was always going to replace Gilchrist and there was never a hint of anyone jumping ahead. No one talks about any other keeper, bar Ronchi, and as I said before, he isn't the best candidate going around. So you got a...

    Should Haddin Be Dropped

I wouldn't really know. I hear about bowlers and batsmen who could be an addition to the Australian all the time; Hodge, North, D. Hussey, Hughes, Magoffin, Siddle, Geeves etc etc. I'm sure you hear these names all the time, but you rarely hear the names of keepers being thrown around do you...

    Should Haddin Be Dropped

Give him the summer I say. The bloke has been churning the runs out for so long, I don't think the amount of tests he has played would be enough to say he should be dropped. I know it is a cliche, but he is due to score some runs. In addition to this, there is a big drop in standards behind him...

    Opinions of These Bowlers

Jacques Kallis: his batting record is one of the best in modern times, but you could say that he has some claim to be the best all-rounder the game has ever seen. I've read posts on here before that have disclaimed his bowling, mainly due to the fact that he isn't really a front line bowler like...

    ***Official*** Australian Domestic Season 2008/09

I thought QLD were going to be the dud team of the season. They have attained maximum points from dispirited NSW outift. I'm not sure how much of an impact the loss of Forest's father had on the team. Either way, the team resembles NZ sides of the late 1990s and early 2000s; plenty of...
