*Official Third Test at Headingley* 25-29 August

Off pure numbers, yes. But he didn't look quite himself in the last Test, despite the crucial wickets. I think he'll bowl well but cannot base decisions entirely off retrospective numbers.

Not quite insanity, considering how good Ashwin is - but certainly risky.

Vihari would be a madness selection. Gotta be Ash.

So wonderfully ridiculous . It also raises the possibility of the strange parallel universe where he attacks John Cena - to which I'm sure John Cena would have been more confused than angry. I watched Summerslam on Sunday afternoon with two friends and one friend of a friend. The latter...

Would you like to see the text message on his telephone?

I don't see what's so hard to understand, he got a text message on his telephone that he sent to himself from Triple H's phone in a ruse that fooled no one and was for no reason.

Yes, I feel you on that. I think going to two hours and TV each week was a mistake because it kinda ruined the storytelling and slow-building up of new characters. But I guess if you are a listed company then you don't pass up an opportunity like that to make money.

Good point. Overall I'm just really excited about AEW - it feels everything is going the right way. Genuinely excited to see what happens on Wednesdays now and just so many cool matchups to look forward to, considering how well they protect the wrestlers from 50/50 booking. Like atm, after how...

Let's see. Wyatt, like Black, is someone with huge potential. On the lower card, I think Nick Comoroto has an interesting look also and maybe he could be someone they elevate in future. I think the one thing AEW is "missing" slightly is young big guys - people that can grow into Brock Lesnar...

It isn't WCW-level reality though, talking about the "script". I think it is a compelling story Cena is telling about that, as a multiple time world champion, of course he could pin Roman Reigns 1-2-3 if things go his way. And I think even in kayfabe, some backstage politics exists - for example...

Yes - I love the roster. I think this is a big 2/3 year period for them. Jericho still around, Christian Cage looking good as ever, Omega on top, Hangman on the rise, CM Punk back after seven years, MJF on the rise, Darby Allin and Sting as a mainstay, Miro with a new lease on life, Lance Archer...

Sorry for the triple post but just wanted to say that this was exactly what I needed. A nice escape to the crazy world of wrestling which seems like a revival is really coming!

It did attract lots of young people to the games. Unclear what aspect specifically did that.

Who was the better bowler: Glenn Mcgrath or Wasim Akram?

England (and Wales) gloom, doom and recriminations thread

Yes, I think fast bowling has a huge amount of highly athletic people that miss out on it because they aren't exposed to it. I think often very athletic people just inherently know how to produce an effective bowling action.
