Most Underrated Cricketers in Cricket Chat

Lots of suppression there... In fact, I feel, he is one of the most overrated here.

? Never see him in any sides picked around his era though...another interesting observation in that regard, though Ambrose is rated as highly as McGrath, sometimes even higher, McGrath is almost always picked ahead of Ambrose in sides...

Two South Africans come to mind right away - Mike Procter from old days and Shaun Pollock from modern times. Anyone else you have observed?

    Best 2 Teams (1965 to 2015)

Dravid was an opener almost entire first half of his career... remember those mornings, had to get up sharp at 3:30 (Aus or N.Z) if wished to see Dravid coming out to bat, missed an over, he was already there...those Ajay Jadejas, Navjot Sidhus, Shiv Sunder Dases, Sadagoppan Rameshes Devang...

Yes, Hayden - Sehwag is horrendous combination, Dravid - I will have him in the top order, if not opening, then no. 3. Since I wanted to have Ponting as well, that's why send Dravid up. Better equipped for opening and did open for India few times. Then Dravid bats at 3, Ponting out.

Liked the side. Opening is no specialization then, good.

That's why it makes sense to include all 4 of them may be, the ranking seemed, to me, pretty fair to their overall ability barring one or two like De Silva...

    Best 2 Teams (1965 to 2015)

Yeah, not a bad option at all...Warne, Murali, Ambrose, McGrath/Wasim...may be it's a good idea to go with Pollock in place of Kallis, Gilly bats at 6 then, anyways, not very sure how useful Kallis will be as a bowler against such a mighty line-up...and Dravid either as opener or no. 3. And I...

Jacques Kallis vs Rahul Dravid vs Kumar Sangakkara

Among the 3 I loved watching Dravid the most. Also, in terms of significant innings in test matches he is ahead of the rest by quite some margin...fine line though, stats and all that don't really mean much here, gotta come down to individual preferences...

    Best 2 Teams (1965 to 2015)

By the way, given the fact that these two sides are gonna play, hypothetically, what kind of a chance does a Mathew Hayden or Virendra Sehwag has of doing well in a 50-50 pitch (that's what it should be at least) against Lille, Marshall, Holding, Imran and likes?
