Don't know what it is about the England set-up that kind of drags players away from being exceptional and brings them back to mediocrity. Root is going that way. Cook was averaging 50 for a spell and is back to high 40s. England have not produced a single great player in my lifetime. Whereas...

Cricket needs to set a standard for ODI pitches that are actually conducive to proper contests, not see which batting lineup can outthrash the other on a Mickey Mouse pitch. Pitches need to have something in for the bowlers, this is just a crap brand of T20. And T20 by its nature will always...

Yes Mickey Mouse stuff when that sort of thing is going for 6.

Most of the spinners let themselves get hit with a cross-bat far too often. The straight boundaries were much longer than the wide ones. They should be able to counter better when the batsmen are virtually sweeping everything.

If that was hitting it was only a coat of paint.

So instead they're going to **** about for a month for something that is patently obvious.

I think when someone like Narine opens the batting you're better off bowling pace straight up. Narine is there to prevent that cheap opening over from a spinner. The best bet is to bowl pace, hopefully get him out and then bowl a spinner whilst the batsmen aren't set.

I have a problem with being drawing series at home to Pakistan, away to Bangladesh and getting annihilated in India. God for a bit of Aussie pragmatism, instead of politics, committees and bollocks.

If they can't come to a decision on this pretty quickly they don't deserve to be in the job. Cook keeps making noises that he doesn't fancy it. His captaincy has been rubbish. Not a difficult decision.

It's typical of ECB's complete ****ing uselessness and dickheadishness. With another news item today being the ECB managing to lose a long term sponsor. With the ECB it's like are they bigger muppets than they are verminous scum, and it's a very tough call. It isn't productive for this to be...

I wonder how much longer England can drag out the Cook decision? For the record just 17 days since England lost the last Test. 25 days since the series was over as a contest. Typical ECB cluster****.

Lynn's 6-hitting proficiency prevented the ton. If either of those 6s in the last over went for 4 then the game continues and he can hit a 4 or 6 to get the hundred.

Klanger. 10 off 3 batting first up would have been quite statistically unusual too.

Lyon and O'Keefe are perfectly capable of throwing their bat at Azhar Ali or whatever knackered half-arsed Pakistan bowler rocks up.

Didn't realise Renshaw was born in Middlesbrough (just over 5 miles from where I live), anyway nothing wrong with his batting.
