*Official* Third Test (Headingley, Leeds) 6–10 July

Surely people would rather watch high quality fast bowling and high quality cricket than trying to squeeze the required overs in, whether you paid for your ticket or not. As long as they don’t waste so much time they’re only getting 60 overs in!

That is just done for pure pace!!!! What a ripper!

Yes he looks threatening and haven’t seen Marnus so uncomfortable. However, you’re right mate, he’s a fraction short so it looks good fizzing through to Bairstow but just needs to be a tad fuller to get closer to the edge.

It‘s going to be a feisty atmosphere and a pitch with a bit in it should make for an exhilarating Test! I’m sure there’ll be passages where one or both of them resort to the short pitched bowling tactic, which for me was not a great watch but effective for both teams. Looking forward to seeing...

Surely it was always in their minds to rest Jimmy for this one, despite how he bowled in the first two Tests. I’d imagine he’ll be brought back for OT and then if there’s anything on the line at the Oval I’m sure he could go again.

Too late for you I’m afraid mate!

Yes definitely out of his crease

I think he was out of his crease a fair amount in his innings so probably not

That’s completely different though! Marnus was trying to gain an advantage by being out of his ground when batting, comparing apples with oranges my friend. Although I do see the comical element with how far he missed the stumps by! 😂

Yes I think Jimmy will certainly miss out at Headingley, especially if the short ball attack is going to continue. Wood would be an obvious replacement.

Ok mate, well if you think they’d have run, that means the batsman actually did change their mind over whether it’s dead or not and that must mean you’re absolutely right. Everyone can stop discussing it.

I’m not even sure they would to be fair, however, even if I thought they would that doesn’t really change anything.

As I’ve said previously Bairstow isn’t faultless here, dozy cricket from him. If the ball missed the stumps and ricocheted off Bairstow, he would not have gone for the run, even though by the rules I’m sure he could have done. It’s that old spirit of cricket kinda thing.

Putting the Bairstow situation to one side, it’s hard to argue that Australia didn’t deserve the win, they were the dominant side over the course of the five days and we nearly got over the line thanks to one man’s brilliance which would have brushed over our deficiencies in some fairly obvious...

Not trying to kid anyone, I’m just offering my opinion, fwiw, on what I think should’ve happened. The fact it is Test cricket at the highest level and not backyard cricket is the exact reason the appeal should’ve been retracted. I’m not blaming Warner and Smith, I’m suggesting they probably...

I don’t think it matters that Carey threw it immediately, that doesn’t mean it’s fine and he should be out! I have no problem with what Carey did, keepers do it all the time without thinking. I just think once it’s played out the way it did it needed the skipper to say ‘hang on I don’t think...

*Official* Second Test (Lord's, London) 28 June–2 July

No one can disagree with the fact Bairstow was out, if Australia want to appeal (and not withdraw) the umpires can’t do anything other than give it out. It comes down to the spirit of the game, it just didn’t feel right at the time and it doesn’t get any better hours later. If a batsman is...

I have seen ‘spooked’ being used A LOT on here so knew it was some form of ‘joke’.

Haha!! I did think I read a comment previously suggesting there’s a large in-joke material you post. It’s fair enough mate, I’m just licking my wounds after more disappointment! Though I have missed your opinion based posts even if I didn’t agree with them all!

You used to be quite a good and insightful poster, I might be going back a while, but not sure what’s happened.
