Baggy Green ball tampering: Bancroft, Smith and the Aussie "Leadership Group"

So we lose Smith but get to keep Lehmann? There is no justice in this world.

Baggy Green ball tampering: Bancroft, Smith and the Aussie "Leadership Group"

He'll do some bogan big-money spreads with 60 minutes / New Idea with Candice and the terribly-named children. And then make his money in IPL. Probably even captain.

I 'know' it from stalking their instagrams :D

There is NO way Warner will take this lying down. At some point he and Candice are going to start hitting up the media. Get the popcorn out.

Baggy Green ball tampering: Bancroft, Smith and the Aussie "Leadership Group"

I wonder if the players are so p***ed off with Warner partly because they think he should take more responsibility and the flak off Smith. It's always been pretty clear Smith has been a more popular figure in the dressing room. Warner seems to have few actual friends in cricket, just as Michael...

Appropriate Punishment for Smith from CA

We have regained the moral high ground. :D

Baggy Green ball tampering: Bancroft, Smith and the Aussie "Leadership Group"

From this it seems Warner is much more culpable but Smith gets the same sentence? I mean, I guess he is captain. I'm fascinated to know why Warner singled out Bancroft to implement the 'plan'. Hope that comes out in the wash. Really, the lesson is to never admit to your cheating in a press...

Why doesn't Sutherland stand down? Seriously, how long has he been in this post for and how many 'inquiries' out of debacles has he precided over. Time for some fresh blood. He's the Xi Jinping of Australian cricket. Except not effective.

Appropriate Punishment for Smith from CA

This public shaming culture with no empathy is a pretty awful condition of modern society. Hope he's got a good support network around him.

Appropriate Punishment for Smith from CA

Can CA actually strip someone of captaincy permanently? Do they have the powers/is there precedent to specify he shall no longer be eligible for any leadership position in Australian cricket ever again? And if so does that extend to other teams in Australia? Will he also be stripped of NSW...

Baggy Green ball tampering: Bancroft, Smith and the Aussie "Leadership Group"

You do wonder how long this has been going on for (to greater and lesser degrees). It just popping into the players' minds one lunchtime seems a bit implausible. Even if it did all is tainted now.

Couldn't be worse than Shane Watson. hashtagneverforget.

This was my thinking. The immediate stand-down is pure PR, for sure. The public will be the judge and jury on this so I think Smith may be a gonna.

I hope Lehmann cops some flak out of this. He's always been teflon to date. Can't stand the man.

So does this make Paine an official captain, as in the X number of players that have captained Australia?

Confirmed: Rabada banned for two matches

    Man this sucks.

    Kagiso Rabada

His numbers are mind boggling. I think he has surpassed Ben Stokes as number one exciting talent in world (test) cricket. Much more likeable too.

So is there any chance of KG escaping a ban? That will suck so much for the series if not. Partic if goes 1-1 and set up for a classic. He's got some kind of attitude/anger problem he needs to address. I guess he's pretty young, will mature I'm sure.

Oh Rabada. Seriously, fast bowling in this series is a rare treat. Privileged.
