What if - Kapil had played in a better team

One thing in Kapil's favour which is also baffling is that despite of having such a lower average in Odi's he was consistently in top 10 to 12 batsmen in ODI's and top 5 to 10 bowlers in tests during the whole decade of 80s, you can't say the same about players with apparently similar averages.

What if - Kapil had played in a better team

It's largely true, add Bumrah to an Indian attack and suddenly all the bowlers start to look different hehe take him away and certain mediocrity starts to kick in.

Rank your 5 best bats from Australia post-Bradman

I remember Hayden himself saying there were not enough/quality fast bowler left in international circuit anymore who could push him on backfoot, and he was right in a way he just used to walk towards the fast bowlers like they were gentle paced and he looked right about what he said.

What if - Kapil had played in a better team

Say if he had played in one of the best bowling unit like Windies of 80's Or Australia of late 90s /early 2000s , hypothetically speaking how better or worse his record would have been, how much difference /no difference does it make to have all great guns around you?

Best players who were not given enough chances by the management

Speaking of India, Navjot singh Sidhu maintained an average of 42 from late 80s to 2000 in a time when India were not finding a decent opener after Gavaskar and yet ended up playing only 51 tests in about 17 years.
