I don't think anyone would be bowling at 100%, this is a practice game and should be viewed as such. The bowlers try out balls that likely they would rely on, work out their rythm etc. They don't go out particularly all out to take wickets so any runs/wickets should be taken with grain of salt...

    *Official* England in NZ 2023

I think Rippon had yips recently and that could have been the reason why they didn't play him in India. He didn't bowl much for otago this year in super smash too. Ravindra had yips last year and has come back really well. For some reason it only seems to affect left armers or leg spinners...

That was such a good section to read. Plenty of humor with England players laughing at having to play Richardson. His grand parents had enough and left the ground ? Good thing that happened though and Richardson had an above average career with the bat. Great book that, one of the best I've read.

    *Official* England in NZ 2023

Win or lose, I'm quite excited to watch this England test side. They have legends with experience still playing and more than enough youth to add to the mix. Ideal combination to attract interest from public. It's going to be a sell out the two test matches. High chances England will be bowled...

*Official* Srilanka and New Zealand LO tours to India - Jan 2023

Like I said it looks good on paper Southee, Lockie, Henry/Jamieson and Santner as our first choice bowlers (add ish and bracewell to the mix) but if the conditions for seam bowling is not great then we'll need a lot of runs on board which I'm not confident of scoring.

My last post was commending Steady and Larsen for spotting the talent in Bracewell rightly so but been frustrated of late with some of the clueless running of cricket. The inside running is most of the players are fed up with these guys. Selections are consistently inconsistent. Legends and...

Steady and Larsen have to be commended for spotting the ability in Bracewell, don't think too many thought of him all that high. In fact if he wasn't a captain for Firebirds he would have lost his spot in PS. He did hog the bowling while captain but got to tip the hat off to the man for...

As for debate about test spots, we have to get used to seeing white ball players making the test sides now rather than strong PS players. That is the direction NZC has taken. You will see more and more t20 players making the test side in future. Tough luck for proper red ball players but that's...

HNY Lads... been a while since I posted. Life has gotten busy and thought will never be back online discussing cricket but there you go now have a break from work for a bit. Super stoked at the last inning from Bracewell, have to say that is one of the very best one day knocks I have ever...

Nah too far away, don't think he'll mentally last that long.

That was a good knock by guppy. I do think he has earned the right to hang his boots when he likes. I get a feeling it may not be far away. The t20 wc could be the last we may see of him.

Pooran deserved a hundred there, changed the game inside out in no time. Enjoyed watching that even though it came against us. The pitch looks good for batting and we have a long lineup. We should get there but it'll be close I think. Definitely not going to be one sided this one

Gee this Pooran guy smashes it a long way... He should be opening the batting.

Perhaps you're right, Henry would be ahead of Kyle likely.

Think so, definitely better option than Tickener or Duffy when Ferguson is rested, injured or out of form.

And Mayers goes... that's a bit strange. Looks like he was too happy with the hundred. He's well settled and there is still 15 overs to go and he goes for it. Not sure if that was right. High chances we will get a chance to come back in hard now. This is what puzzles me about West Indies...

Good knock by Mayers and he'snot done yet. He's pumping it... to be honest it's not a bad thing for us, at least our guys will bat positively and we will truly know if we can handle the pressure of chasing a big score without Kane and Taylor in the side. This is our full side sans Kane and Kyle.

It's been quite disappointing Kane missing out every possible series. Bit of a bad luck he missed a test vs England due to covid but this frequent forced break is not helping him find any rhythm in batting. Here's hoping we are yet to see his best. The man is a delight to watch but it's been...

I do agree with @Howsie they could have tried few younger ones such as Troy, Clarkson, Ashok. Rutherford is an interesting one. They picked him for series vs South Africa at home, then picked him for UK tour and came in as a replacement for Kane. Now he's nowhere to be seen. They could have...
