    *Official* England in NZ 2023

Super excited for the test match... Our best chance is at Basin. We haven't dropped a game at Basin for a very long time. If England can get one over us in this test match then I will believe they are the best team around marginally ahead of India. I'd say 70:30 to us this test match. This is...

How's this not good enough for an all rounder of quality?

Not sure what the rationale behind this, I thought they would have kept Duffy and released Kuggs. Maybe there is a plunkett shield game coming up for Otago and Canterbury. Makes sense to release Ish if you they are not going to play him. Stead said Henry would replace Jacob Duffy in the squad...

These are pretty loosely constructed corporate priorities but at least NZC had one. Wonder how many of these measures were achieved. Our aim was to be in the top four test nations which I think we have achieved.

I searched up my emails and got this from 2017. I know they did the Cricket Unleashed a strategy to grow cricket which was in place till 2020. I don't think there has been one since. Looking back to 2017, looked like there were reasonable planning. Although not everything was achieved but some were.

True that about Kane. The balls he's getting out recently he used to punch them nonchalantly for fours. Confidence is a strange thing. When you're one of the very best there's way more expectations and handling that over number of years is a hard one. If Kane scored a fifty we'll still regard it...

Very fair comment. I had thought the same of Pant, unorthodox and won't be able to buy a run in tough conditions but it's been proved otherwise. GP is very enterprising no doubt. I do feel if he would have been tried since like a year with all the batting experience around he'd have flourished...

Foxcroft will play white ball cricket no doubt. GP will obviously play lot of cricket for NZ in all formats, Chu not so sure unless he can sort out playing short stuff which I think he'll. All of that will have to wait, high chances Larsen and Stead will bring back Rutherford, Doug Bracewell...

I would love to see Phillips play but a bit too many holes for red ball cricket, hard hands, very limited areas he can score ie the leg side and square on off, needs improvement vs spin, temperament etc... if you need a change of tempo and play bazzball then he's your man and first on the list I...

For the next test please give Young a go and give Nicholls a break. Nicholls hasn't scored a hundred since like a year. In the same time Young has 3.

I'm not sold on Phillips in red ball cricket. I'd love to be proved wrong and want to be proved wrong desperately as I like the lad. Unless he plays like Brook don't think he's going to be a long term prospect in red ball cricket. I know the lads I'm going to name are majorly from Wellington and...

Of course we're not that bad anymore but in the recent years say since 2012 this must be the longest drought. Although we lost the series in England we competed in every year match.

Most of the blokes I bumped into today and spoke cricket were looking forward to watching Aussie India game. That's pretty disappointing.

It was an embarrassing end to the test match. I thought we are good enough to chase 350 but I'm so delusional ? I think we're getting into a quick sand now. No way out of it as we have to stick with the same personnel and they're not getting better. The management is after band aid fixes and...

That was tongue in cheek... Quietly I do sympathize with the likes of Larsen and Gary. I know that sounds strange but I feel they don't have a lot of say. If they try to move a senior on there will be a furore but then they are tied as well. They will have to listen to the captain otherwise they...

No way for anyone younger to get in as yet. Ben Sears is looked at by this management as a t20 specialist. Go figure... The senior players will not let youth come in unless they get handsome t20 leagues offer.

    *Official* England in NZ 2023

There should be an independent review into how things are run. Don't want to state what one of the former player said about the way things are run,. I don't want to believe it but after this season it should be looked at. Some of the decisions since a while is very strange to say the least.
