    *Official* England in NZ 2023

Definitely not when he's your fourth bowler and the ball is 65 overs old. He's picked to bat at no.8 meaning he's one of the main bowlers. Mitchell bowled 9 overs for 61. I think Macewell may have bowled his overs in 4 spells. That is defintiely not the way to go with spinners.

The stand out from the partnership Root and Brooks had was the easiness at which they rotated the strike. It was awesome to watch if you were England supporter, they barely ever played 6 balls in a row. Southee did set defensive fields. Towards the end we had long on, long off, deep mid wicket...

They just surprise me all the time... they bowled loads of Bracewell in Pakistan, picked Ish out of nowhere and underbowled Ajaz. Now they are underbowling Bracewell, Ish was released and Ajaz didn't even make the cut in the 14 member squad. It's like a 5 year old kid captaining the backyard side.

There you go, he'll be the next go to guy for Larsen and Stead. He is a leadership material now too. I do think he's quite a good player though. I don't think I will be surprised if he starts rolling his arm again. Trend has been set.

Yeah but the way he was portrayed and promoted on social media, functions etc it felt like they had definitely invested in him long term but then few failures and he was shunned. I'd hope they give him a go again towards the end of the season. He can definitely play, he's not as bad as the...

Pretty hopeless England, didn't reach the 6 RPO. Not good enough.

Looking forward to seeing how Abbas goes. Interestingly they have picked Nick Kelly as captain. This is something that Bruce Edgar does, he doesn't trust Wellington players to captain I suppose. Edgar was the one that appointed Bracewell as captain. Hoping Kelly doesn't start bowling himself 20...

According to Cricinfo, the first test was just the second in the 145-year history of the game to feature an XI without a player younger than 30. So for there have been 3 times when an international side has fielded a side without a player younger than 30. The last time it happened was 145 years...

And so it starts the experiement of making turning decks and playing 3 spinners in the squads. Appreciate the initative but then Bracewell bowled all of 7 or 8 overs today. So much for trying to promote and encourage spinners. Ajaz Patel and Ish Sodhi already out of the squad. How is this going...

That is such a good analysis. Wow... that's like bowling in t20. No wonder he scored like t20. Even if left hander was bowling that is a wrong line to a right hander.

I guess I need to go see a doctor. I'm getting delusional with every game. That said our team selection doesn't help, looks like they are desperate to lose.

That's one of the best hundred I've watched in a while. Top class stuff. Given the conditions and from the situation when he came into bat, Top draw

It is so frustrating to see Bracewell not used much at all. He's bowling all right, the ball is old. New ball is 16 overs away.We only have 3 main bowlers and Southee barely gives the ball to Bracewell. We keep talking about lack of spinners but never bowl them in long spells. Tired of these...

Root and Brook batting so well out there. Top class knocks so far. There's still plenty in the deck but they've made our boys look pedestrian. Loving watching them both even if it's against us. Joe's cover drives ?
