Jeepers Sumo. The crowd is there to see us win, this is a Test match

Haha **** me. This is the greatest ceremony awarded to a player in forever. 18 months of selectorial grace, two guard of honours, and the opportunity to bat one more time despite being 647 runs ahead.

Well that's my question - I don't know whose call it is. If it's Rachin's, it's weak. If it's Latham's or Stead's, it's also weak but it puts Rachin in a real invidious spot. I presume it's a team edict, that they must have a night watchman with a certain amount of overs before the close. I hate...

As I said earlier, I kinda get it. I would love to know whose decision it was for a guy averaging 2 to come out in perfect batting conditions ahead of a guy who gets paid tonnes of rupees to do exactly the thing he avoided doing.

I presume this first part is satire or trolling.

    Carrying O'Rourke?

It's day 3, we're 400 ahead, no rain on the forecast. Why?

Because Rachin bottled it yesterday in perfect batting conditions before stumps. Or at least that'll be the impression (it might be a team edict). Deserved **** given for mine. And probably why Rachin had been scoring so slow

No play at the Mount possible today, either. Hosing down. Crazy to think I have horribly sun burnt feet from yesterday and now it's a little bit chilly and wet as hell.

Dipak could have easily been an NZ coach if he was willing to be a bit more adaptable to what NZC wanted out of him. But he's always been his own man and polarising in his own way. Outstanding technical coach who can take credit for a significant number of guys who played for NZ: Munro, de...

He'll count that as a win on balance, hitting a six first ball of the innings. Few beers, beach and golf tomorrow, onto the next one.

Really didn't yesterday. It was a seven hour sauna. I love the English supporters, you get two types: the brown sun lizards who sit out in the blazing heat all day, and the really pasty ones who get in the ground early to take all the shade

There's a bit of Kerry Walmsley about him.

Or that 18 months ago, or two seasons ago in @thierry henry terms, England lost in very similar circumstances enforcing the follow on. I dunno if it was clear seeing the players on TV today but it was HOT as a mother ****er at Seddon. Sending those guys into bowl again would not have been...

Certainty felt that way. I thought we'd have a fair chance this week given they are out of running for the WTC, the sun is shining, Baz likes a beer and there's a few holes to play.

Watching Tim bowl live, I'd back anyone to head out with a bat and deal with it. No zip at all

Back from an absolute sweat box of a day at the ground...what's the talking point? England looking like they've played golf and drink piss all week? O'Rourke hitting 150km? Or the ridiculousness of a night watchman 20 mins out in clear light with a 320-run lead? What did Sumo make of all of it?

You can't have a guy at 7 who averages 25 as a high bar, and that's Santner. He batted well yesterday but that's not what you'll get more often than not. Phillips at 5, Hay 7, then someone like Dale Phillips or the next best middle order player at 6

Hmmm, I can't say I agree. Baz was named in that hall of Fame XI last week, he's an NZ cricket great, he was in presenting to an old team mate and friend. XIs are generally named a day or two out, there's little benefit to knowing Santner is in. And it isn't the 80s and 90s anymore when Allan...
