    **Official** 3rd Test @Brisbane (Ewwwww), 14th-18th December

Incredibly, that includes NZ's tour of India where he took 3 wickets in the series (only played 2 Tests) at 42s. He didn't take a wicket in the 2nd Test (to be fair, only 1 of the 40 wickets to fall went to seam).

*Unofficial* New Zealand Black Caps Thread

Henry was always going to be a world class opening bowler. He just needed to be given that role, which to be fair was sewn up by Boult and Southee at their peaks. And he didn't always work hard enough in the situation he found himself in before that career-turning Test v SA at Hagley in 2022...

Oh okay yeah he did. Didn't read properly

*Unofficial* New Zealand Black Caps Thread

Southee's 2012 sticks out to me. It includes his first innings bowling v SA at Dunedin but not the second when he took 0-100. Why would that be?

    **Official** England in New Zealand 28 Nov-18 Dec 2024 - 3 Tests

I thought back to Phil Hughes, rest his soul, but that was a two Test series where from memory he was caught Gup bowled Martin all four times? Crazy that it's only happened 3 times.

Unfortunately for us, we have the two most conservative people in NZ sport in the decision making positions in our national game. We can't expect bold decisions to be made ahead of some blockbuster series' against SA (hopefully) England India and Australia. We can expect the same faces to keep...

    **Official** England in New Zealand 28 Nov-18 Dec 2024 - 3 Tests

Yesterday. That's not being a dick, but I agree with Neil Young. We now know that under this management, picking the best XI is not always the consideration, even when they've told us this previously. I don't mind when they get it wrong on conservative grounds, for instance that Santner should...

I reckon Smith is a guy like Southee, Henry and King Mills before him that could go great up front but yeah, cannon fodder in the death overs. But I think he's going to be a very good international player in all formats

Geesus. That's the thing with being a tall quick, some days you're going to do everything but find the edge and you don't often hit the stumps. But he made life incredibly uncomfortable for England and I bet Santner would feel Will earned him a couple by mentally wearing them down. Bethall's...

    Most Handsome Cricketer?

Spikes can absolutely be attractive on a lovable rogue, but O'Rourke's head is 3 foot long already.

    **Official** England in New Zealand 28 Nov-18 Dec 2024 - 3 Tests

As for us, feels a bit sickening that it's December 17 and Test cricket is over for the summer. We come away with a few positives: Will O'Rourke is probably better than we even thought, Matt Henry is still world class and Mitchell Santner may have worked out Test cricket... although fitting...

I know England have this team first edict but surely have a bit of personal pride about you, and fight a bit for fans too who would like to see you put in an effort. They were absolutely atrocious in this Test in intensity and effort.

    Most Handsome Cricketer?

Needs to not have spiky hair that elongates the area above his neck, and makes him look like an Easter Island statue. If he addresses that, definitely see promise in him

Ego, again. It can do bad things to a person. Sumo might come across as a decent bloke, but he was a patsy at Sky for them and the NZRU, left, then all of a sudden had a critical opinion. And now he hogs the mike despite knowing nothing about the game. He flat out shouldn't do Tests. T20 I...

Yeah but it was in reference to what he said about boudoir commentary. Incidentally, he's now dating a well known sports person (Sumo not Hendrix)

When is the optimal time to declare the first innings?

Australian commentators would love this thread. They're contractually obliged to mention the D word when a team goes past 200 or more than halfway to the second new ball

    **Official** England in New Zealand 28 Nov-18 Dec 2024 - 3 Tests

Second paragraph is exactly how he should be used, if anything. He was over talking Sir David Gower the other day. That's like my nine year old shoving Sir David Attenborough aside on a nature doco, given she went on a school zoo trip once. The third paragraph will live rent free in my...

Absolutely agree. You got through that spell, refocus, runs will come. Bat time. There's more than enough places to score without that sort of nonsense. I thought that was awful. He has too many shots to even need to do that. How was Southee going to get wickets today? Only by going too hard at...

I get it with O'Rourke because he felt uncomfortable and probably felt one had his name on it. Sumo trying to call a 125km ball a slower ball 😭 c'mon pal

    **Official** England in New Zealand 28 Nov-18 Dec 2024 - 3 Tests

I'll never understand that as long as I live. Youve never scored a test hundred, you have more than a day and a half to bat, you're facing the first ball of a spell from a guy whose so hittable if you just stay in your normal stance and play it...but you run at him and chip out. Bizarre, ego...
