The IFHA's ranking of the world's Group One races doesn't really agree with that. Here's the 2023 list: https://ifhaonline.org/resources/WTGradedRanking/LWGRank.asp?batch=7 And it's worth reiterating that the Hong Kong runner-up placed in both of those top two (albeit the 2024 edition of the...

    **Official** England in New Zealand 28 Nov-18 Dec 2024 - 3 Tests

Yeah, I think most players would have taken a review in that situation.

Fair points, and of course I agree So You Think was an outstanding horse. But I still don't personally believe there's much between them. Look at Sunday's runner-up Liberty Island, who Romantic Warrior cruised away from (with McDonald standing up in the saddle). She's won four Group Ones in...

I'd probably put Romantic Warrior on a similar sort of level to So You Think, who managed five Group One wins in the UK and Ireland.

I hope the owner of Romantic Warrior can be talked out of his Saudi Cup/Dubai World Cup idea. Please just stick to the turf - he's won seven Group One races in Hong Kong now, plus one each in Japan and Australia, and I think he's well capable of winning something like the Dubai Turf or Sheema...

The Basin Reserve over the years

Those were the days. I wish the Champions League had worked.

A bit of a contrast to when Wagner was 12th man for his last test and seemed to get a huge ovation every time he set foot on or near the field. Maybe we could have done something along those lines for Southee too. His great career has earned him a victory lap in front of big NZ crowds, but maybe...

Basin looks superb in all of those photos. I've only ever seen domestic cricket there, so will have to try to make it to a test one day (hopefully one where the home team actually turns up).

Well done England. Have to say I'm struggling to remember a more feeble performance from us on home soil in recent times. A nightmarish few days to watch.

****ing hell, Henry. He's capable of batting so much better.

Even though I feel like we probably should be moving on from Blundell, I'm bloody happy for the bloke.

Cricket stuff that doesn't deserve its own thread

They did a fair bit better in the dead rubber tbf, taking 12 runs off the last over to successfully chase 133.

Yeah, two stress fractures to his back. I honestly doubt he'll play another test, but would love to be wrong.
