Virat Kohli vs Ricky Ponting (Read OP)

Virat was very bad for three years averaging in 20s but in last 1-2 year, he has rediscovered him, thanks to some flat decks on offer. Let's wait for a bit longer before concluding. Ponting is the answer as of now.

    Kane Williamson vs Joe Root

So, Williamson is again going to miss a test match away from home vs top nation. I am sure his fans will continue to rate him highly because he will play 1-2 test in India and then cash on heavily vs mediocre teams at home next year to preserve his test average to 55, which will allow his fans...

    Ben Stokes vs Matthew Hayden

Hayden, a 50 averaging opener batsman who has performed in Asia.

    Best Cricket Xi (from 2000s)

I think Australia should have Marnus at 3 and Hussey bats below Clarke while Watson can be dropped. Watson was an average test player. Australia would win. SA were very good too, India's batting is weak and England's bowling is weak.

AB de Villiers vs Graeme Smith

    Kallis ABD Smith Amla Kallis a 9/10 ABD a 8/10 Smith and Amla a 7.75/10 and 7.5/10

    Kane Williamson vs Joe Root

With that embarrassing away record vs major nations and home vs Australia, he obviously is an undeserving candidate.

    Kane Williamson vs Joe Root

Williamson is just another minnow basher. People can defend him as much as they want but no other elite batter who is not an opener has an away record vs top nations as poor as Williamson does. Root is comfortably better. It was only a matter of sample before he could have gotten his stats...

    Rahul Dravid vs James Anderson

Dravid but it's close. Dravid was superb away while Anderson was not really superb away.

Which Australian test team looks stronger?

Ponting as opener not very convincing. He is an aggressive batsman who likes to take on the bowlers, yes he batted at 3 but he has luxury of Hayden and Langer as opener, its a different thing than opening the batting. Team B seems a safer bet in my opinion.

AB de Villiers vs Graeme Smith

It is close. I will pick ABD as a personal choice but Smith's impact in Test cricket for South Africa's success goes beyond stats. The difference is 19-20 in my opinion.
  13. M

Jacques Kallis vs AB de Villiers

ABD kept at his peak too, which might have affected his productivity of runs. Players average 75-80 during their purple patch. AB as keeper averages 57, who knows if he played as specialist bat in those games, he might have averaged a lot more in those two years.

Better test bat: Dravid vs Sangakkara

Sanga.Keeping affected his run production in the initial half of his career. He is not as good as his stats but then he averages 57 so still better than Dravid.
  15. M

    Waqar Younis vs Kane Williamson

Waqar Younis is comfortably better. He has better' away record compared to Williamson while both are beasts at home although in case of Williamson, there is another blip that he was poor vs Australia at home.
  16. M

Kane Williamson not in league of other elite test batters

Gayle is underrated as a test batsman. Openers usually have lower averages compared to middle order batsman because they have to face the new ball which swings more. However, Gayle was lucky to get a lot of flat pitches and he did well there. He has good record in Australia and South Africa and...

    Mohammad Azharuddin vs Cheteshwar Pujara

Close one..Both superb players of spin but not so good vs pace. Azharuddin is probably more talented and far more pleasing on eyes to watch than Pujara. But Pujara's resilience and grit is worth its value.
  18. M

    Virender Sehwag vs Alastair Cook

Cook is better here just like how he is better than Mr. Williamson.
  19. M

Lara vs De Villiers against pace

Yep..AB did really well vs pace otherwise.
  20. M

    Shaun Pollock vs Ravichandran Ashwin

Pollock because his away record is better. However, Ashwin is also one of the biggest match winner in the game with 11 man of series.
