Correct me if I'm wrong here, but I can't recall McIntosh getting out to the short ball. I think he may have once in the W.I series, but domestically I can't recall any instances really. Looking like you're getting hit (and getting hit occasionally) is only really a technical weakness if it...

This interests me a lot. My club played against his before the SL-Pak Test series. He bowled quite a few overs, and all the batsmen thought he was rubbish. I played a few overs of him and agreed. I barely considered him a club standard bowler. Then he went out and took 5-for or whatever in a...

    *Official* Fourth Test at Headingley

It's the effort that counts aye? I haven't heard a coach say that since I was about 9. Good to see that philosophy holds true in Test Cricket.

The last Ashes without referrals – a running tally of umpiring errors

No way. No way in hell an umpire can be sure that it hit him in line. Hawkeye had it 50/50 in line. Definitely the right call to give it not out, no question.

    Emerging Players Tournament 2009

Guptill wasn't originally in the squad. He was brought in because of injury. Southee is 20, and not in the Test, ODI or T20 squads atm. Fulton was captain.

It's equivalent to having an argument with someone in real life. They make a well thought out point, and you go "Hmph, whatever" and walk off. You're right, Haddin should've spent the time preceding the game spent in a bathtub filled with pillows and bubble wrap.

Are you going to counter-argue the point with the person who hasn't got a leg to stand on or are you going to meekly ignore the reply and hope everyone forgets that you're completely wrong?

The last Ashes without referrals – a running tally of umpiring errors

Hold on. Bat very close to ball, question about whether it hit in line and also question of whether it was missing off (hawkeye had it hitting outside half of off) is a fair enough not out decision in my opinion. There's a lot of doubt there, which means it was a good decision. Whether it was...

    *Official Third Test at Edgbaston

I don't see how that makes a difference at all. Warmups frequently continue after the toss is done if players feel like they need more work. What the hell are you talking about? If a 'pro' feels like he wants to take a few takes from the bowlers to get his feet moving (or for whateever reason)...

    *Official Third Test at Edgbaston

What? This is a completely ******** statement. My bet is that he was keeping to the bowlers and caught one wrong on the half volley or something. So what you're saying is that the keeper shouldn't be warming up his keeping before a test match? I suppose none of the bowlers should bowl either...

We have 2 training strips for u19s as well. There's no pattern, people just wear what they feel like or whatever's not in the wash. It could be the same for them. Have no idea what that black stuff is though.

Leading Oz coaches refuse to teach doosra

Wtf are you talking about? Of course a left arm spinner can bowl a doosra.

What should we do with Mitchell Johnson?

Not true, again. I've been pinged in the head by quick bowlers on even decks, hit in the ribs, on the hand, you name it, and I'm sure it'll happen many more times. Sometimes you just get a delivery in an awkward area or you simply misjudge the height of it. Doesn't have to be an uneven deck.

What should we do with Mitchell Johnson?

Agree with the rest of your post, but this is just wrong. Most of our under 19 bowling attack struggled to get the hang of bowling with the duke ball. It is very different, not only in feel but also in how you try to maintain it and how you try to get it to swing.
