    I do actually agree with you on how you define wc, I always use the top 4 players in a position to be the benchmark so simular to your top 5.     Curran as 4th seamer is perfectly fine imo, the problem is when he is the 3rd seamer. I can't see his bowling really improving so the only way he can get in is to bat well

    I thought the last couple of years domestically and ipl stuff that Curran had been playing as a top order batsman? I can see a time post stokes where smith bats 6 and Curran 7 in tests. This will only happen if smith averages late 30s or more.

    Why is holders place in the team getting questioned? Okay he may be too high up the order at no 6 but he still makes plenty of decent contributions. He's a great no 8. He would be in my England xi.
