He’s also hitting the ball gently in the air to fielders, which is generally considered a bad move.

Yeah it is hard to tell how much is just the toss. This spin bowling is miles better than NZ’s was though, and yet their figures are looking much the same.

The genuine anger in his voice when he realised that Mitchell shot was landing in no man’s land. ‘He’s hit it SO badly that he’s got away with it’.

They’re somehow still in the game despite being comprehensively outplayed for the first 3/4 of the match.

I think chasing 398 is more of an ‘everyone tee off’ kind of situation. I know Kohli anchored the India innings but they made a much faster start.

I’m hearing this a lot lately but I really don’t remember much reverse swing happening in the one-ball ODI era. As I remember it the extra new ball was introduced to make things easier for the bowlers? Have I got that wrong?

Murtough is "football director" and they hired some guy as "director of football operations" from Everton... the only top flight club that comes close to being as dysfunctional as United this past decade.

Absolutely bombing as manager just destroyed his internal authority. But there are plenty of competent DoFs out there, it didn’t have to be Rangnick.

Having the manager do transfers says so much more about the club than it says about ETH. It's hardly ego to think he can do a better job of recruitment than John ****ing Murtough.

Yeah it’s a tough group but this Dortmund side are a team they should beat home and away.

Zach Wilson is pure pain to watch. Not so much "competition winner" as "curse victim". Ravens absolutely demolishing a couple of perfectly decent teams is ominous.

Didn’t Tendulkar reach the landmark by costing India a game against Bangladesh? India should at least still win this one.

Ha, I thought the scorecard was confusingly conservative. Kohli wanting the milestone century is so much more convincing as an explanation than India’s long tail.

Rashford has streaks where he looks like one of the best players in the league, but he also goes through long periods where he's poor. I agree with Furball that he's past the point where we can hope for a big permanent improvement, although that's not to say that his current very low level of...
