The 4th Greatest Wicket keeper Batsman?

Did you miss the part where I mentioned England? Other teams have done it too. Let’s be clear - we’re talking about competent keepers. No one is picking someone genuinely **** who averages 40.

The 4th Greatest Wicket keeper Batsman?

Modern teams do tend tk favour the keeper who can bat. You could argue England are a bit insane maybe, but Saha was also dropped for Pant. They even dropped Jurel for Pant who actually seems to be a pretty good bat. Also, are people still rating Pant from when he first came into the team...

What parts of the game would you like to see return to modern cricket?

The WTC final should be made a timeless test

*Official* New Zealand tour of India 2024

Not sure how that really holds up…he’s scored in England and Australia (and SA though minimal tests), and against both those teams too in India. And in India against those teams, and more. Hard to say “conditions and bowling strength” when those same things usually have our top order at 100/5...

Yea but you usually don’t expect the home team to do it

The 4th Greatest Wicket keeper Batsman?

Yes. Isn’t Pant one of the only players nevermind keepers to have scored a bunch of centuries in like 5 away series or something weird like that? He’s still a baby in test terms too, he has insane output. He’s an unorthodox bat - his output is there.

Pant is there as a batsman first, but he’s not going to get you 150-200+ scores. Everyone knows exactly what his role is. Point is these guys are 6, 7, 8, but asked to bat 5, 6, 7 (and often times higher - Pant at 4, Jadeja at 5). The Indian team shouldn’t be relying on these guys for runs in...

    James Anderson vs Kagiso Rabada

Fair enough, I stand corrected. Expected for Rabada maybe but surprising for Cummins.

This is what happens when Pant (and he still got a few), Jadeja and Ashwin don’t get runs. It’s been on the cards for ages, maybe not quite so bad as this, but it’s just been very well masked. Our batting is awful.

The 4th Greatest Wicket keeper Batsman?

If batting is a crucial part (but keeping obviously still important), it’s Pant already.

    James Anderson vs Kagiso Rabada

At a meagre 2 WPM or something silly yea…

    James Anderson vs Kagiso Rabada

Yea cos Anderson is SO impressive outside his natural habitat. The actual ****?

    Jack Leach vs Ajaz Patel

Or he’s lucky to play for them. Kuldeep can barely get a test for India.

    Best Cricket Xi (from 2000s)

Not really - those Aussie bowlers have often struggled to take 20 wickets, even at home. India’s batting, as proven time and again, runs deep. The Aussie batting isn’t that far removed from what India has recently faced and they’ve beaten them enough times.

Better test bat: Dravid vs Sangakkara

Well not really because no one rates those batsmen much.

Best Players that You have Watched Play

Going for “most exciting” players I’ve seen - in no particular order. A few of them just happen to be the very best too. Lara Sachin Donald Wasim Steyn Pant Bumrah

Maybe the coward should have tried batting higher up the order instead of hiding

So who is really the 2nd best modern opener?

It’s so close between these it’s really splitting hairs I think - the fact that they’re all so different doesn’t help.

    Virender Sehwag vs Alastair Cook

The question isn’t who is better than the other, my point is you thinking that Boycott is clear of the 2000s guys is the issue. He isn’t. Is he better? Possibly. I’m not entirely convinced but sure, an argument can be made. But arguing from a point of “he’s clear of them” - when he quite...

    Virender Sehwag vs Alastair Cook

Your fallacy is thinking Boycott clears them. That’s the issue.
