Mohammed Amir cleared to return with immediate effect

Ah the ever popular "unnamed source". You'll excuse me if I don't consider that official proof that he's not remorseful. All any of us can go by is what he's said and done since his jail stint, which has all been on the up and up in terms of showing remorse and integrating back to the team as...

Mohammed Amir cleared to return with immediate effect

Where are you getting the indication that Amir displays no remorse? Everything I've seen or heard from him since his jail stint displays nothing but remorse. You are creating false offenses here. Also, those old fuddy duddies, one of whom now runs the dressing room, were much older and in...

Mohammed Amir cleared to return with immediate effect

So Azhar and Hafeez have a moral objection about playing with Amir, a spot-fixer. Good for them. How about they show a bit of consistency with their outrage though? Why are they ok playing under Waqar Younis, who was one of the players named by the Qayyum report as having delved into...

Cricket stuff that doesn't deserve its own thread

Tape-ball tales One of the finest articles I've ever read, about the phenomena of tape-ball cricket's origin and popularity in Karachi, Pakistan. I remember being utterly shocked when I came to find out that tape ball cricket wasn't as popular/prevalent in other cricket-mad countries as it was...

    Cricket All-Stars 2015 - Sachin's Blasters vs Warne's Warriors

Attached is the seating map from the Houston game. It obviously doesn't give you any idea about the dimensions, but you can somewhat get a sense that it will be a small boundary with weird dimensions.

    Cricket All-Stars 2015 - Sachin's Blasters vs Warne's Warriors

The ticket prices are quite high. The cheapest seats (in the upper reserves!) are going for $50. If you want a half-way decent seat, it'll cost you $175. I don't think the stadiums will be packed at all for that reason alone.

**Official** Pakistan and England in the UAE 2015/16

Really pleased by the series win. It is remarkable how much Misbah has accomplished, and under difficult circumstances. If this was his last series, what a way to go! Coming off this high from the Test series win and the #2 ranking, we are in for a let down. If the Pak/India series does not...

**Official** Pakistan and England in the UAE 2015/16

 The hilarious part is that the tweet that prompted the Beefy waahh had nothing to do with the Pak/Eng series, but was rather a joke about the current beef consumption controversy in India.

Well that was an excruciating finish. So happy right now. :)

Haha, yeah as much as I've been tempted, this was a genuine mistake! Glad James fixed it.

Mohammed Amir cleared to return with immediate effect

Yeah there should be no one saying that it was a harmless/victimless crime. It was a dark day for cricket and for Pakistan. I'm in favor of allowing Amir back, but I'm certainly not going to pretend that what he did was insignificant.

**Official** Pakistan and England in the UAE 2015/16

Is that the overwhelming sentiment you are getting from Pakistani fans in this thread though? I'm not. I think you are taking it more negatively than most. I'll wager most Pakistani fans are in the "we were VERY lucky to survive that" camp.

Unfortunately I don't know of a board like that, aside from IMDB (which is rubbish). If only more people watched it, we could have a discussion in the TV thread here. Alas, we'll just have to converse with each other for now. Glad you're enjoying it!

Mohammed Amir cleared to return with immediate effect

That's a really valid question. If his teammates/co-workers are totally put off working with him and it poisons the locker room, then it may be a valid reason to subsequently kick him off the team. I'm on the fence on that one. I would still want him to be allowed back on the team though and...
