What I don't understand about Bashir visa issue is why this hasn't been sorted before now. I know players from other countries have had issues with delays to their visas, but here we have a player that may have played in the test match but can't. Now from a sporting integrity point of view...

It does feel we're going in to this test with team selection far from decided. Will Stokes bowl - probably not. So do we play the extra batter or bowler. Teams tend to go for the former and I think we will but that does leave the bowling looking short of options. I think we'll go with Crawley...

Leech is far and away our best spinner but after him we're pretty limited. Obviously the Indian spin attack is leaps and bounds ahead of ours and that will be the deciding factor in the series. India at home are unbelievably strong and whilst I think we'll be competitive at times, anything...

I think you're forgetting the classic episode of Duck Tales when Scrooge McDuck scored a gritty 100 off Huey, Lewie & Dewey.

Both Marsh and Head are fine attacking batsmen. Marsh is finally scoring the runs that he's threatened to for years. Head can take the game away from any attack. But I also feel they are both more vulnerable than you'd want your 5 and 6 to be. Head can really struggle against the short ball...

If the top 3 is Smith, Khawaja and Labuschagne then the middle order looks as weak as I've seen it for a long time. Green, Marsh, Head and Carey can all be dangerous but as an opposition bowler, I'd really fancy ripping through that. In the great pantheon of Aussie middle orders, that one...

TMS isn't quite what it once was, but that may be just me getting older 😆. But it's still far and away the best radio coverage in the UK.

Kimber is very good but even he can't make up for Andrew ****ing McKenna and Harmison.

I hate Talksport's cricket coverage- it's so poor, I probably won't bother listening. Andrew McKenna, Harmison, Gough 😢

Whilst promoting Smith to open may be the best option in the short term, at some point the Aussies are going to have to blood a replacement not only for Warner but also Khawaja. Surely the time to do that would be now. The selectors have known for ages that Warner was going to retire so have...

    2023-24 Big Bash League

Jason Behrendorff seems to bowl well in every game that I watch. I know the Aussies aren't short of bowling options and the fact he doesn't really bat isn't helpful, but I'm surprised he's not played more often for the national side.

A crazy match. Any delivery that didn't go to the boundary was a good ball 😆. Unbelievable batting from both sides but hats off to Phil Salt - IPL contract anyone. Should be a cracking decider.

Carlos Brathwaite just called players with Phil Salt's ability are a dime a dozen in the IPL. I like Carlos but that's harsh 😆

Buttler's strike rate of 190 looks somewhat pedestrian 😆

Best Indian Test Wicketkeepers after M S Dhoni

Being a Lancashire supporter I've always had a soft spot for Farokh. He was selected for the ROW side in the early 1970s which shows his ability with the gloves and was a fine attacking opening batsman, at a time when India were nowhere near the force that they are now. He was not as good a...

I was surprised that Warner was selected for this series as it would have been an ideal opportunity to blood someone else. At home, Warner has an outstanding record but with Khawaja also being in the latter stages of his career, its clear the Aussies are going to have find 2 new openers in the...

It was the right decision to take Stokes to the WC. We've spoken alot since the WC debacle about England not prioritising ODIs since 2019. Leaving one of our best ODI batsmen at home to try and ensure he's fit to bowl in India, would have fitted right into that narrative.
