    Graham Thorpe dies aged 55

So young, no age at all. Was my fav English batsman for a long time, mostly for his style, but also because he wasn't a mediocre hack. Deserved more recognition and accolades. Rip fella.

Wonder what excuse Stead will trot out when we inevitably lose

Has to be one of our worst seasons ever finishing bottom 3 in all leagues. To be expected after having a core group of youths graduate last season and then selling off everyone over 28 to focus on a core senior squad. Probably not going to pay off and we tend to lose 50k a week but gonna ride...

O'Rourke, Duffman and Sears are the fast bowling future! Actually kind of surprised Young has kept a contract. Guess he's still first reserve batsman in all formats. Nicholls tho...would be nice after blooding some new bowlers to blood some newer batsmen

International Cricket Captain 2024 (6th June)

I mean, fair, but not what I like the game for. Ball by ball play in ICC is my least favourite way to play tbh. May as well just play cricket 19 and be part of the action properly.

International Cricket Captain 2024 (6th June)

I remember sinking quite a few ours into Cricket Captain, really trying to like it but just never got there with it. My main gripe with ICC is that T20s and OD matches are baffling. Doesn't matter what aggression setting you use, doesn't seem to really help or work

Promoters missed a trick by not promoting this as the virgin Williamson vs the Chad Soper

im i too old to start playing cricket

Wait fifty years and you'll just be about the right age to be picked in Gary Steads Blackcaps

Yup. No one is scrutinising it. If the all blacks lost their opening 2 games of a WC campaign to say, Italy (afg) and Argentina (windies) there'd be riots and calls for the coach and captain to be sacked

International Cricket Captain 2024 (6th June)

I bought the the 2023 (I think) version for Switch, because I cbf getting my laptop out to play the last version I got (2016 as well maybe??). At this stage I'd wonder how many purchases are out of laziness as opposed to excitement.

Fielding also trains technique, which iirc slows down later in age compared to primaries. I switched to a regime of training yoofs to reliable then primaries, then fielding to spectacular once they hit seniors and I'm finding my players have a better primary/technique balance than they used to...

Bad cricketers who played too long

Jesse, certainly. Hay will always remain a what if. As we've seen with Mitchell, sometimes taking a punt on a guy with ordinary numbers pays off. Sometimes it doesn't. Flynn had a good stonewalling temperament and valued his wicket. He also averaged 60+ in the 2007/08 season before earning a...
