    Sunny is nowhere near Viv in Aus and Eng when you factor that Viv has multiple good/great series and quality of attacks Viv faced. Sunny is definitely better in Pakistan tho Viv had a near ATG series there.

    I saw Murali being neutralised at home much more often. Lara, Fleming, Sehwag, Younis Khan, Anwar, Thorpe, Klusener. He wasn't as unconquerable. The fact that Ashwin takes six wickets a test is more impressive than Murali taking nearly seven given the bowling competition that Ashwin has.

    I am saying it's a reasonable stance to put Gavaskar in WI ahead based on 71 and 76. I only brought the 88 series to suggest that it's not like Miandad was a bigger failure against WI top pacers in their own backyard since he has a series outside his early career one better than Gavaskar.
