    Imran Khan vs Muttiah Muralitharan

Well, tbf, winning a series, in vast majority of cases, is not a single handed venture. It is a team effort. I don't think SL not winning a series in India has much to do with Murali. It would be like penalizing Shakib for BD not winning any series.

    Imran Khan vs Muttiah Muralitharan

Wait, SL have never even won a single test in India?

    Imran Khan vs Muttiah Muralitharan

Why would I argue them? None of them is as inconsistent as you are.

    Imran Khan vs Muttiah Muralitharan

You're special though. You have a different standard for each bowler.

    Billy Ibadulla has passed away

RIP Was a popular character while he was around the Pakistani circuit as well.

    Imran Khan vs Muttiah Muralitharan

Why? Because your double standards are getting exposed?

    Imran Khan vs Muttiah Muralitharan

Wait, Murali is not ahead of Warne, despite Warne averaging more than 25 overall (and not ATG) according to your definition.

    Imran Khan vs Muttiah Muralitharan

A bit confused about this. Murali probably trumps everyone in terms of longevity and sustained excellence. But elite fast bowlers are more valuable in terms of the side's chances of winning

How much did slip cordons affect McGrath's and Wasim's records?

Yeah, I personally don't see the problem. It isn't easy bowling too many short balls though. Bouncers require a lot of effort.

How much did slip cordons affect McGrath's and Wasim's records?

I think as long as tailenders are not being bounces out,.it's fine.

How much did slip cordons affect McGrath's and Wasim's records?

So there's nothing wrong with intimidation? So why is @kyear2 getting his panties in a twist?

    J Hobbs Vs Imran

Yeah, but you are pushing this opinion like it must be adhered to. I just feel there is a good enough strong argument to be made for it not to be pushed either. So, we can agree to disagree.

    J Hobbs Vs Imran

Probably not, but that is because the 19th century bowlers were likely bowling on minefields.

    J Hobbs Vs Imran

It is arbitrary. Same argument can be used for Hobbs, modern batsmen are fitter, sure. Better? No evidence of that.

How much did slip cordons affect McGrath's and Wasim's records?

    What's wrong with intimidation?
  17. smash84

    J Hobbs Vs Imran

That is your problem then. You're drawing arbitrary lines of when cricket becomes of a sufficiently "good standard". Without a good argument as to why we should exclude Hobbs, we shouldn't. And taking this reasoning to its extreme, since general fitness standards have been increasing for the...
