Who is the best fast bowler in the world right now - Tests

"Dale Steyn went to England in 2005 to play for Essex, appearing in seven matches between May and June. He failed to make a big impact in his initial outing in County Championship cricket, taking 14 wickets at 59.85" Hmmm.....intriguing, interesting! :detective

Who is the best fast bowler in the world right now - Tests

What was Steyn's record when he played for Essex?

***Official*** West Indies in England (Pointless 2 T20 series for Sky's benefit)

So you think Swann has no input into the field he bowls to?! I would be astonished if Strauss doesn't basically give him every single field he asks for! Maybe the odd pre-planned thing, but not much!

Who is the best fast bowler in the world right now - Tests

If we're talking in all conditions with all types of balls (Dukes and Kookaburas etc.) I'd say Tim Bresnan is right up there. Probably top 3. Steyn has flopped with the Duke ball a number of times. Whereas Bresnan has excelled in all conditions, against all opposition, with all balls.

Broad's injured so who will England turn to?!! Oh just the mere 95mph and 6'7 Steven Finn.

    Aleem Dar vs Simon Taufel

Gunner Gould?! Are you kidding?! Did you see his shambolic display in the West Indies against India!? He was utterly abhorrent, was so baised towards India!

    Your most aesthetically appealing XI

The current England set-up is full of good looking fellas. Dernbach, Broad, Cooky, Jimmy, Mogs All boaty lads!

    Aleem Dar vs Simon Taufel

Rauf and Dar are miles ahead of Taufel now. Simon Taufel is truly awful!

Is It Possible to Have a Championship of Test Cricket?

England would win it, so we may as well metaphorically give them the title. England - World Champions of Tests and T20s and defeaters of the World ODI Champions!

Respect for disciplined medium pace - PK and Copeland

I'm not talking express pace. But 75mph ain't getting the job done. And was Kumar that good in England? 15 wickets at 30 in bowler friendly conditions, against an England team missing the ICC cricketer of the year?

Respect for disciplined medium pace - PK and Copeland

England has the likes of David Masters, Mark Davies and Alan Richardson who are all of a similar standard to Copeland and Kumar, but they aren't even close to selection. Pace and movement is the key to fast bowling.

ICC Test team of the Year

He was already laughably given a place in Test Team of the Year for that boring MCC speech, giving him the ODI award as well is surely pushing it!? He read it from a piece of paper, probably written by a professional writer. I could have done it just as well, if not better!

ICC Test team of the Year

I'm still in utter disbelief they didn't pick Matt Prior in the Test Team of the Year. It must be the worst decision by the ICC ever.
  15. O

Current Most indispensable cricketer in the world

Cook or Strauss missing a large portion of time would leave a huge whole in England's top order and their general management think-tank as well. Matt Prior as well would be very difficult to replace. Bairstow or Davies would have to step up big time!

But Ravi did lead us to a tie. However, he ran out Swann (his call) and then smacked one to deep mid-wicket in consecutive balls. If either of those had just been dots, England would have won.

    *Official* T20 and ODI matches

England were robbed in my opinion, but had play continued in those conditions they'd have probably lost. Make sense of that! Some really poor and weak umpiring! Play should have been suspended just before Swann's dismissal. At that point, it was not fit for cricket. Had normal conditions been...
