Final – India v New Zealand – Sunday, March 9 – Dubai

Darwin Award

U19 Captain
And Sharma.

He's the one that gets the run rate very high in the first 7 overs or so & even when he's dismissed he's still laid the foundation for Kohli to pick runs off.

Get him early & put the pressure on Kohli to deliver.
Already right from the getgo Sharma signaling intent.

Bad first over to get things underway & really need to bag Sharma ASAP

Both newball bowlers haven't really found the radar yet, O'Rourke especially struggling with line.

International Debutant
Slightly off topic but I find it so strange that Hardik only has one career 100. Always felt that he has more in him than just big hits.

Whatever it takes!!!
KJ bowling decidedly slower than I remember him from before. Is he bowling within himself or is this his regular speed now post injuries and surgery?

I think that was a run out opportunity missed by NZ. Rohit was extremely slow and did not even want the second, I think. Gill called him through.

King Kane

International Vice-Captain
We are already missing Henry, both our opening bowlers are bowling too short and too wide, if they don't lift their game I would get the spinners on.

I thought you meant just his odi career ..

But Pandya has actually scored only 1 100 across all formats domestically and for India ! , his only career hundred came against Sri Lanka in Test cricket..He surely must be the greatest 1 career hundred batter ever !

I can't believe I ate the whole thing
Any NZ fans wanna take this one?
I mean he was never rapid, and it actually feels like it's been so long since I've seen the old Jamieson that I can't remember but feel like he mostly operated in the 135 area sometimes touching 140, with the latter being the exception and not the norm.

He definitely got quicker after he made his international debut, because I vaguely remember him bowling late 120s and low 130s early on before picking up a yard of pace.

Yeah he was very much what I call fast medium (135-140) but seems to have gone down a little bit this game. But looks like he is genuinely bowling cutters into the wicket than actually losing pace, which is good news for NZ and their fans.

The NZ attack has a Henry-size gap by the looks of it, though KJ is trying. And not helped by putting down chances like that.
