  • Haha, I'd love to boss you around, bitch :P Have you decided to go with that confirmation you received a few days back? Where will you be going?

Let's see how things go. I don't think I'll fail at the exam, that would suck, and I would need to seriously reconsider if I'm in the right field of work if I do fail. I get one shot at it, and I'll have to do really well to over come my shortcomings (age factor, lack of research experience, no contacts, non-citizenship etc). I'll probably look into any short term research opportunities once (and if :ninja:) I'm done with the ECFMG certification.
Haha, I haven't touched any of the basic sciences (physics/inorganic chem etc) for a decade now. I doubt I'd be any good in actual research, unless it involves being babysitted through working on someone else's project rather than coming up with original ideas, hypotheses and working out the protocols and methodology myself.
Also, you need to get a residency at the med school I go to. That way, you can be my attending. I must get honors in all my rotations or you get banned. :p
I thought you zapped frogs for fun? What exactly do/did you do? When do you start homeopathy school?
Oops, forgot about your question. The USMLE is more application oriented, while the exams here at med school are basically tests of regurgitation. The entrance exams for residencies (the equivalent of the USMLE) are similar to med school, only multiple choice questionnaire based. They're again tests of regurgitation (I'm led to believe that they are similar to what the USMLE was like until the late 90's), and tend to focus on minutiae instead of broad based problem solving.
Yeah, I intend to. I do need to complete my notice period at work before. I'm babysitting two simultaneous studies here with a couple of mother****ing subjects faking adverse events here. God, I hate this line of work so much. I probably should be relieved to have had a taste of it before considering it as a future line of employment, though. Its so regimented with little scope for clinical application (oh the irony).
Nice, which school? Not that I know anything to assess them in the first place :p

Also, why the superfluous phd? Isn't being a real doctor good enough for you without wanting to be a fake one too?

"This man just fainted. Is there a doctor on the plane!?"

"Yeah, I am! I'll need a lab coat, a petri dish and 3 days to revive him!"
I think it was "[List of names of Indian fast bowlers], here comes the same old Indian BS"

    something like that
Hey, SS. What are your plans for the future, currently? Are you still interested in pure research?
What happened to you on FB?

Anyway, have you used R much? Is it similar to MatLab? Getting tired of using SPSS/SAS where I am, it sucks balls.
You and pasag talking on MSN Messenger must be the lamest conversations of all time.
Any chance I could ask for you to contribute to the CW HoF? Would be interested to see who you would nominate :)
