  • I had friends who went and they weren't huge fans and they said it was an amazing night.

    WM17...Indeed. Takes me back.
I saw them a couple months ago in Sydney.

I reckon you'll have a blast. Its so much fun even if they aren't your cup of tea.
Thans brotha! I've been going cold turkey in the week leading up to new year and its fine to be honest. Particularly with my coffees. Will give it a go without artificial sweetner. If I relapse I'll move to that :p
EPL tips - still got time for tomorrow's fixtures, New Year's Day fixtures and tonight's game if you tip in the next 10 mins.
Mate if you had written that like 3 days ago I'd have said can't, but its a distinct possibility I may be in the great United Kingdom again for India's tour :-O
Of course not, but it's worth a try. Maybe you could sneak into bed 10 mins before she wakes up and pretended the drunkenness is just early morning drowsiness
Ahh that's great. Hosted "English Christmas" at home a few years back, was really stressful in the couple of weeks leading up to it but the day itself was really relaxing. Was bloody hot though.
I think I like the English side years better because I actually get to see everyone on Christmas Day. My dad's parents and siblings live close to me so we can pop in there on the way, but my mum's side is a lot further away so it'd seem silly to go all the way out there just to say hi and then come back right away. Both events are enjoyable in their own ways, especially with how different the actual people on the two sides of my family are, but seeing everyone on the day is a big plus.

It definitely seems a bit silly sometimes having a room full of 20 people all having a simultaneous sit-down dinner at the hottest part of the day, especially when it's a full on lavish roast, but it's tradition now so it'd seem even weirder if we didn't do it. It's actually raining a bit today so hopefully that keeps it cool.

    What are you doing tomorrow?
Spending it with my mum's side of the family this year, which means popping around in the morning to say Merry Christmas to various people from my dad's side who I'm not spending most of the day with, followed by an hour and a half car trip out to the middle of nowhere where I enjoy a proper sit down turkey meal with all the trimmings in the middle of the day despite it usually being about 40 degrees. Mum's side is English see; old habits die hard I suppose.

Every other year it's with my dad's side, and that's a lot different. Sit outside, drink beer, eat seafood and snacks, take the piss out of everyone for a few hours and then come home.

Really enjoy both tbh, but very different experiences from year to year.
    Haha, you too.

I think it counts as up early. Went to bed at 1, got up at 3, I think. It's now 6 and I'm not going to have an opportunity to sleep again for another 13 hours at the earliest, so I guess I started my day officially when I got up at 3..
I don't think that would be good for anybody, besides possibly myself. So thanks for putting my well-being first, WAG!
Merry Christmas, fellow British citizen (Y)
I see you decided to open up my British passport thread and like some posts in it a couple of days ago. Pretty amazing timing considering I'm currently in the process of renewing it. :p
