  • Will have to leave it here for now.

I will freely admit that I have not handled this well at all but the main crux of the decision - the closure of this thread - I absolutely stand by.
didn't i just say "take it to VMs?". deleted your post.

Anyway - yes, but they're entitled to that opinion, and I cannot control it. Just as I cannot control people who say Sachin > Bradman.

It's not about allowables and non-allowables. It's whether good quality discussion can actually take place.
I deleted the off-topic posts. Difference. And I HATE deleting posts.

You're right, there probably are lots of threads that deserve closure. But that one particularly sparked my ire simply because of the lack of good posting from anyone that was taking place.

Now, as for the "Should Sachin Retire" thread, it probably should have been closed straight away, yes. But it actually improved as time went on. Mind you, it was hard to continue to hold that opinion lately.
I didn't say he couldn't make another thread.

I just looked at the last two (two!) pages of that thread, and thought, "no."

No one was actually partaking in a consistent, sensible discussion. Random offtopic, casual insults, shifting goalposts, straw men - the works.
Then let it be a joke thread. The actual number of troll posts in that thread were very, very low.

The Bradman thread, on the other hand, had degenerated into people merrily ignoring each other's arguments and casually insulting each other. Given past history, there's no way that could have turned out sensibly. When has a Bradman thread ever turned out sensibly after that?
Chose to respond here so as to avoid that thread going a different route.

I am not sure if West Indian prospects are lost for good, but certainly their they haven't been fully utilised. Gayle and Taylor could have played more for West Indies this year, had there been a decent communication channel with the WICB. As I understand, their parent board isn't too happy with some of their priorities and West Indies cricket suffers in the end. An emerging side cannot afford to lose two key players, especially the fast bowler.

Maybe you've already read them - Link 1 and Link2. Let me know your take on the issue.
    Yeah, such a rort.

Not even going to bother talking to Cribb because im sure you know what he is like. Such a stubborn bloke. :p
We've given him a couple of trolling infractions already. He'll be gone soon I reckon but mum's the word etc etc (despite VMs being public ).
    Cevno,

I feel like I have lost all will to be at cricsim. There are so many trolls there its not even funny.
So sounds like a game. Not sure if I can dedicate enough time to it. I anyway hate my addiction to CW :)
presented myself in that thread for sticky wickets.....thanks for keeping the place for me (hopefully).....

yeah you are right about the extent of power that Imran will enjoy however there is one thing about Imran. The guy will resign if he feels he is not fully in charge. He refused General Musharraf's multiple offers for Prime Ministership because he knew he wouldn't be incharge. I have a lot of faith in Imran's leadership (some of the others like Fusion don't). He is the only one who actually talks about issues that directly affect the public like education, taxation, judicial reform, power generation etc. Quite radical in some things too. Last time I heard him he was talking about the death penalty over corruption above a certain level (something he wants to borrow from the Chinese model).
can the sticky wickets wait till saturday? I will have internet connection at home by then. I want to change teams to see if my performance improves :p......maybe I will be the next Imran .....btw dude I really hope Imran becomes the next Prime Minister of Pakistan. In case you understand hindi you might want to hear out some of the things he has to say. Sounds like the only honest **** politician. A kind of a lone Anna Hazare before Anna Hazare :p
Where is Downes going? According to smalishah's wall posts, he's apparently leaving the Cheats.
