Anyway Piscine I was wondering, we all know what you think of Arsenal, but do you also believe that Bolton and Portsmouth have relevance to Britian since they sign a far few foreign players.

It is a simple undenyable fact, foreign players are cheaper (as a rule of thumb, but then guys like Kaka, Ronaldinho, Buffon, Eto'o etc. don't come cheap) then an English player. I mean if you can buy a foreign bloke who is exactly the same level as an English player, but the former has a cheaper transfer fee, who is he going to go for? Case in point, you have Man U pay between14-18m for somebody like Carrick, and yet Inter picked up Vieria for more then 10m less, and United would have got Vieria cheaper then they would have got Carrick had Vieria opted to join the 'dark side'.

While Mourinho has told Arsenal to make up their minds regarding the situation of Ashley Cole
I imagine that will be sorted out by the end of the week, however, the longer it goes on, i would say the more likely it is that he will stay at arsenal.

Nice of ITV to take off one of the rare decent programs they show all year to have a load of overpaid, diving, cheating mercenaries who have no relevance to Britain play out a tedious and crappy qualifier game against some other rubbish side of no relevance to Britain.
I know how you feel. The Bill isn't on tonight because Liverpool are playing.

English players don't have the problem of adapting tho and are likely to be a bit more loyal on average. You've also got the fact that even tho they are more expensive you can also sell them on for a higher price as well, if it comes to that. I don't like Bolton either - they're a complete waste of space and fill the team with mediocre foreigners which is even worse, but they do usually beat the CDMs. Don't take any notice of Portsmouth so don't know how bad they are in comparison.

They are absolute filth, the bottom feeders of Football. I HATE them.

Plus he's younger by quite a few years.

Carrick's a totally different type of player too; he's more of an old-fashioned midfield general who dictates the pace of play with his passes rather than a box-to-box ball-winner like Vieira.

There's no way Carrick's a like-for-like for Keane. I suspect Giggs might find himself playing in the middle until Smith's fully up to speed.

I'd think it'd be Scholes and Fletcher( who's looked like he's improved). Or Scholes and a new signing.

i would fancy arsenals midfield against man utd's tbh. with or without reyes, hleb is an excellent player.

I think Scholes might find himself deployed as an axiliary striker at some point. You look very thin up there.

Haven't seen any of Fletcher is the pre-season, but not a huge fan of his. Don't think he's Man U quality in all honesty.

I think "excellent" overtstates the case a bit, but he's getting there. Certainly looking more like a player now than he did before Xmas.

i agree with brumby, imo ljungberg, gilberto, fabregas, hleb, rosicky >>>> Giggs, scholes, flecther, smith, carrick.

And that's ignoring the fact that Rosicky is rather useful too

personally i think the only department he is lacking in is his shooting, other than that he is very good, his passing and work rate in particular are excellent, there is no disputing that, clearly a very talented player imo.
