If he doesn't go, it might just be the kick up the **** he needs, although to be fair he did ok last season. And I'd rather have Kewell than Pennant, who is probably more trouble than he's worth.
Is it me or does Kewell plays better for Australia then he does for Liverpool? Put it this way during the World Cup, all the news and current affair programs couldn't stop interview before and after every Australian World Cup match, especially in the late comeback against Japan, and the 2-2 draw with Croatia.

I thought Zenden, Barragan, and Dudek were all supposed to be used as make weights to but Joaquin from Real Betis? They buy Joaquin and the Betis get those three players in return. Did anything happen with that or was it just paper talk?

Here is what is going on at Aston Villa:

Paper talk most likely, Barragan has agreed to join Deportivo and Zenden has been a significant part of Liverpool's pre season training. Doubtlessly Liverpool would want Joaquin (who wouldn't) but he could be out of their price range, me thinks.

Didn't Joaquin say that he intends to leave Betis after the 05-06 season? In the games they showed on ESPN, he was awful.

His said that for the best part of three seasons now, his father keeps on coming out saying this will be his boys last season before he joins Real Madrid but nothing ever seams to come off it.

I would agree with those sentiments. I vaguely remember when Australia beat us (England) in a friendly and Kewell was amazing on that day, he ran the show effectively. Yet his performances throughout that season for club were consistently awful.

Or Chelsea.

United should step in if they get rid of Cristiano Ronaldo and buy him, honestly I think it is time he left Betis. Does Dudek have a future at Liverpool or is he getting sold?

He doesn't have much of a future but he doesn't appear to be getting sold either - what you call being in limbo

And now, any chance of a decent title challenge go out the window for Man Utd.....

I'd much rather Hargreaves myself but if Utd can get both that'd be good. But ideally it's the Canadian.

Carrick to Man Utd...

If the reported fee 15 million is correct, than Man Utd are at least paying ten million more than the guy is really worth. He has no pace, or positional sense, can not tackle, gives Xavi at Barcelona a run for his money as the master of the five yard pass but Xavi's passes usually go forward, Carrick's sadly go backwards.
Think you're being rather harsh on one of the players of the Premiership last season...In the game he played for England in the World Cup he was one of the best players on the pitch.

Bayern won't let him go now. He helps fill their quota of local players. :D

Possibly but I have seen a lot of Carrick over the years and he has always struck me as a rather ordinary footballer, good on the ball but his actual work rate and diligence to the task can be questioned.
