Sooo why not replace McGrath since he and Marshall are about at the same level but Marshall is significantly better with the bat. Very similar to a Warne vs Murali afaic.

McGrath is the greatest seam bowler ever and has height. Bumrah is a swing master like Marshall. Imran is the best at reverse and his batting.
These three aspects I want in my pacers. All round swing, seam and reverse.

Not the worse reasoning I've ever heard but do you really see Bumrah lasting a full 5 tests over Marshall? I don't. And Marshall is a significantly better batsman. His batting contributed to the 3-0 win in India in 83 so it's not negligible.

Bat deep, no major losses in bowling variety or ability.

In a pinch, might consider Akram for a Marshall or Imran for left handed variety's sake but that's it.

Yup I brought that up in the Marshall vs Bumrah thread why I think Marshall will always be ahead Bumrah has a cap and can't do a 5 test series. I would still likely go with Marshall even if Bumrah ends his career on 19.
