SA on a blitz, made 82 off 11 overs today. They also showed how to use bonus points getting a whopping 2.15 points for their 415 off 100 overs. Qld need to do the same batting to get their points > Vics with a win (will be behind WA with a win)

Rocchiccioli has a solid case for being the 2nd best spinner in the country

I actually prefer Lyon/Rocc/Pope to Lyon/Murphy/Kuhnemann

Don't mind just grinding QLD into the dirt here, no need to try and force a result whatsoever from a South Australian point of view, can afford to try and ease the load on the bowlers a bit

With Khawaja watching the F1, can't believe Qld picked Hearne to open instead of Lovell

I was sort of hoping Marnus would open as an indicator he may do it in the WTC Final (to save his career)

The only thing Qld can do now is score 430 off 100 overs. This will give them 39.50 points which is more than Vics can get even with a win (they'll have 39.49).

Obviously doesn't matter if NSW or WA win

That's the 10th over Lehmann has been in the 90's and he's still only 94

Edit: then quickly gets his hundred lol

I feel like the latter are better in conditions where you might genuinely need multiple spinners, but I do think in Australian conditions Rocco is probably the best option post-Lyon.

Pope, though he has improved I still feel like could really **** the bed on an off-day so I really don't think he's worth picking in normal circumstances.

If by interesting you mean catastrophically stupid, I agree. Genuinely hope the Vics lose by an innings and 200 because of that

As for Shaw, yeah seems not the worst idea from a Vic perspective. Only question is how good his glovework actually is, the fact that Gilkes kept ahead of him in that one game earlier where Philippe was out is hardly a ringing endorsement of his work behind the stumps
Shaw is a very good keeper, I would say that it’s more to do with the fact he’s a weapon in the field
