I'm pretty sure a comparison was done last year on the two. For me, Marshall was a bit better because he was brutal at his very best. I'm doing this solely on bowling ability.

Marshall was a decent enough lower order batsman to make this a very close contest. Think I'd go Hadlee but it's razor thin overall.

Even as bowlers they are almost equal. Maco gains because he had a shorter career, better bowling support and played for a stronger team

Tbf he probably rates Marshall as the greatest ever, just saying that the gap is small.

This is extremely close because Marshall was a genuine no8. Hadlee's batting advantage isn't substantial like it is v most bowlers.

There was more pressure on Hadlee in both batting and bowling.

Even if Maco had an off day, it didn’t matter much for WI. If Hadlee had an off day, NZ was surely going to lose badly.
