International Captain
We can ignore the year and consider their whole careers to keep it simple I guess
Sobers swings it totally WIs way. Without him, it's AusYeah that's my thinking - it's a bit of a cheat including him, and a lot of a cheat to judge him by his whole career! It should probably be Chanderpaul (or possibly Richardson/Kallicharran) for that final spot.
If it's a series in WI or Aus, WI win either way.where's the match
Aus might get the wins at Port of Spain or SydneyIf it's a series in WI or Aus, WI win either way.
Viv destroys Warne and then proceeds to tell his bald teammate that he is the best player of spin bowling.Australia only because of specialist spinner over West Indies.

Why not? Abdul Qadir did. Twice.Little chance Warne averages sub 30 against WI in a series.
wickets were minefields in the 86 Windies series (sub 19 RPW), I doubt either Windies or Australia would produce such wicketsWhy not? Abdul Qadir did. Twice.

Greenidge isn’t discernibly better than Hayden. Lara and Smith, the same. Richards and Chappell, again similar. Gap between Lloyd and Border/Ponting is easily bigger than the gap between Sobers and Border/Ponting. Plus then you have the Langer and Haynes. Not to mention the absolutely massive gap between Gilchrist and Dujon - which far overshadows any other perceived gap in batting depending on our own personal ratings.Sobers, Viv, Greenidge and Lara are better than the rest of the bats. There isn't a big edge either way.
Strawman. In this particular context against high quality spin players and not on mostly spin friendly pitches, yeah Warne will be relatively less effective and more condition dependent than say, Garner. Of course he will still make his impact but he isn't this trumpcard you are portraying him as.
which series? Why not? Windies did in 1986.
lol sorry I assumed you were talking about a Windies home series vs Pakistan.which series?
Oh Yeah, that was a very pacer friendly series AFAIKlol sorry I assumed you were talking about a Windies home series vs Pakistan.

If nothing else, Procter comes in for VVD. I rate VVD, but he doesn't even have a Test capIf Barry Richards and Graeme Pollock make the South African side, in my mind, so should Mike Procter.
I don’t mind giving de Villiers the gloves to accommodate Procter. Not a natural gloveman (although a wonderful athlete), but it’s not like de Kock is a particularly special gloveman either, and de Villiers batted fine with the gloves.
