not much chat at the moment truth be told. will be all set for the season. ice hockey and pools taking up my time at the moment, busy busy
I see the Moralee Cup final was a nail biter! Did you go to the away leg?

I agree with Gordy’s sentiment, even though it’s March on Saturday, it’s been a long and slow winter really - not much to write home about on the cricketing front, even the signing of Doggett’s Window is very much a suck it and see moment in time.

On a more positive and summery note though, the garden has had its first treatment of the year and if I can get two dry days in a row I’ll be giving the lawns their first cut of ‘summer’.

Ha’way Durham!

I've long since stopped believing in the long range weather forecasts however it looks like we could be in for a dry and sunny spell for the next ten days!😎 Perhaps we should play the Uni game before the Zimbabwe trip?😁

Decided to make the most of the weather this morning and had a walk to the ground. Vic and the lads were cutting the grass and must admit it looked in way better nick than it did this time last year. Spotted a green 78 bus heading to Sunderland @Cornsay62 but have to report that unsurprisingly The Trapdoor was seat free.

Share Article:
Durham Cricket are thrilled to announce that Ben Raine has committed his future to the club, by signing a new deal at Seat Unique Riverside.
The 33-year-old, Academy product, has put pen to paper on a new three-year contract, which will keep him in the north east until at least the end of the 2027 season.
Raine, who returned to Durham in 2019 from Leicestershire has been a vital member of the squad since re-joining, claiming 60 wickets in Durham’s trophy winning season back to Division One.
His 60 wickets saw him top the wicket tally in Division Two enjoying his most prolific campaign with the ball over a career spanning over 13 years.
The right arm seamer made his first-class debut for Durham in 2011 against Sri Lanka and in total has 461 first-class scalps to his name.
251 of those wickets coming in a Durham shirt including a best of 6/27 against Sussex in 2019.
A solid all-rounder, Raine has registered over 3920 first-class runs, which included his maiden first-class century against Worcestershire.
His T20 record also impresses with 115 Blast wickets while his 100 against Birmingham Bears in 2018 was the second fastest T20 century by an Englishman, on his way to a blistering 113 from 46 balls with eight fours and ten sixes.
On his contract, Raine said: “I am thrilled to be offered the opportunity to extend my career here at Durham, the clubs in a great place and the opportunity to enjoy the final few years of my career at my home club with some great people is an absolute honour.”
Marcus North, Director of Cricket, said: “It is brilliant news that Ben has committed a further three years to Durham.
“Everything about Ben epitomises what Durham is all about. He has been integral to our success since returning to the Club back in 2019.
“In addition to Ben’s consistent performances year in year out on the field for Durham, his leadership within the changing room is outstanding.
“We all look forward to seeing Ben continue to pay a key role in all formats in the coming years.”

yeah went to both games, truth be told we hardly miss a game. Pools vs York today for me, then straight down to Leeds for the hockey tonight. We COULD win the league tomorrow at Whitley Bay IF Solihull beat Blackburn tonight and we win both games this weekend.

Really enjoying it, best thing I got back into.

Given my lawns the first cut of the year this morning too, although it’s safe to say they won’t be as good for batting on as the Riverside.

Hopefully a home win for Pools today, got a sizeable bet on Barnet to win the league 😜

Went to Leeds last year to watch GB, that’s a TINY ice pad. Might have a ride up to Whitley tomorrow if the family allow it, always good games.
