1st Match - Pakistan v New Zealand

King Kane

International Vice-Captain
I remember Hadlee doing some commentary work shortly after he retired and he was as dull as ditchwater or dishwater as most people say these days.

Yeah he did a fair bit of commentary during the 1996 WC in the subcontinent, plus that 1993/94 tri series in AUS from memory. Did think he was the aural equivalent of a sleeping pill.

Another great shot from Young for 4, he really needs to kick on for a ton here, he has looked by far the best of our batsmen so far.

Young still playing some great shots and even Latham is going alright as a support act.

Remember when we had to talk about Twose to round out a good ATG NZ ODI batting lineup? Gone are the days
England got Andy Caddick and Ben Stokes from NZ and all we got back from them was Roger Twose, i think they are well in front of the ledger there.

I know there are valid reasons for scoring less hundreds but yeah **** we didn't see many growing up apart from like Nathan Aste lol.

I remember Andrew Jones was pretty much our best and most consistent ODI batsman in the late 80's/early 90's and never got a hundred in that format.

If Ravindra was available Young and Latham were the two batsmen most likely to be dropped for him so maybe him missing is a blessing in disguise.

There is still a long way to go yet but this partnership from Young and Latham has got us back on an even keel when our ship looked like it was sinking.

They were asking Rameez about Pakistan spinners since Qadir, strange that Saqlain was the only name he came up with. Mushtaq, Kaneria, Ajmal, Yasir etc surely would come to mind.
