His game has definitely evolved when it comes to slower conditions. The India tour was an obvious example, but in the SL ODIs too he looked in top form even if he didnt have the high scores to show for it.Everyone is saying Will Young is the anchor but he's comfortably got a higher strike rate than everyone
Probably. Young's record isn't as good as it looks on the surface, lots of Netherlands/Bangladesh bashing.Young is surely a lock now in the ODI side isn't he given his record?
He's a subcontinent specialist as well, he was one of our best batsmen in our test series win over India last year so he would be a lock now for me.Young is surely a lock now in the ODI side isn't he given his record?
Bracewell was given hell because he had not earned his spot with compelling domestic performances and was being shoehorned into an all-rounder spot when he had barely bowled domestically. The criticism was vindicated by his failure in test cricket. The criticism of his white ball selection/form was less virulent and I think even the haters probably now accept that he has some value in white ball cricket (and can grudgingly accept that his bowling has been much better than you’d expect for a guy with minimal bowling under his belt before playing international cricket). Why does Nathan Smith get a pass from criticism averaging 6 with the bat and 45 with the ball but Michael Bracewell was given so much hell when he debuted ?
