Disappointed I couldn't place an alternative for my second bid. Had I been allowed to, I would have completed my team and JOJOXI would have finished with his required quota.

We were all limited to bid only for slots we had open for this and every round. If the rest of us were able to bid on more then we would have.
Probably least disruptive remedy, but I haven't checked, is that only his top 5 bids were declared legal and the other players awarded to the highest other legal bids?

I was not under the impression that this was a thing. Hence I bid for three players last round for my one slot.

Also, one more information. In case you win more players than the number of open spots in your team, you will be asked to release the extra players from the squad within 24 hours and those players will be added to the list for the 9th round. Also, in case any current squad players get replaced by the countries before the 9th round, you can release that player and get back that money. Those replacement players will also be added for the 9th round bid.

This is what I had mentioned as the rule earlier. The guideline was that you can bid for any number of players but only within the bid amount. Sorry @Teuton if you had missed this guideline.

If you win more players than the slots left, you will be asked to drop the extra players. There are 17 players left and 17 slots left. So, all slots will be filled and all players will be bid by the end of the auction. In the 9th round, in case the auction dynamics doesn't allow all teams to be filled, I will have one more short and quick 10th round to fill the remaining slots and players.

Sorry to disappoint you, L&L. But this was the guideline at the start of the auction and so, it won't be right to change the guideline in the middle of it. But your and @Teuton's idea is good. Instead of asking the drafters to drop players, I will implement that idea in the next auction onwards.

We have 9 below players left for 9 remaining slots. For the 10th round, since it will be the final round, I will propose to have the rules as below as you and L&L have proposed.

1. Please provide one main bid and one alternative bid only for the number of slots that are available to you and within the bid amount you have. You will get the alternative bid player if first choice is claimed by a higher bidder (LL's idea)
2. If the bids are still equal, whoever has the least highest paid player in the squad will get the bid player.(SS's idea)
